I've been doing family research for about 20 years now including Wiley, Baker, Lehmer, Biemesderfer, Keener/Kiener, Wagner, Kramer, Shepler, Koons/Kuhns in south central Pennsylvania; Gray, Crews, Welch, and Reade in Missouri, Iowa, Virginia, North Carolina, Ireland and England; Hamilton, Patrick, Black, Waddell in Scotland, Canada, and Maryland.|
Feel free to let me know about any corrections or additional information for memorials that I manage. I'll be glad to help in any way that I can. Find A Grave has helped me tremendously in my family research and I hope that it is helpful to you too!
You may use any photos that I've added without permission from me.

I'm so glad that my photos were helpful! I live less than a mile from the cemetery, so decided I better snap all the pictures and document. I will update Michael's year of death.

|Lynn E. Garn||David Mills' mother|
I see that you posted the photo of the grave marker of David Mills (Memorial # 77072081) in the Bovee Cemetery in Wayne Co., Illinois. I have seen claims that his mother was Johanna Christiana Garnes. And I am searching for information that confirms his mother's surname. This surname appears on the FindAGrave information associated with Johanna's grave marker (Memorial # 32518264), but not on her actual marker.
No one seems to know where the surname came from. I believe it is correct. But I would like to know where the name came from. Can you provide a clue?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Well just speculation but possibly they lived in Centre County when the daughter died in 1925 and by the time the parents died they were near Harrisburg and decided to add the daughter on for a complete family. Who really knows the lovely mysteries of family histories I guess.
