RE: Black Gold Cemetery Sign
My mother grew up in Christopher which is very close to this cemetery. At one time there were several members of the Morgan Family that were buried in this cemetery. My mother called it the Morgan Cemetery. Their graves and markers were moved to the Englewood Cemetery. There was also a coal camp cemetery located in this area. When 15 was relocated back in the late sixties a lot of those graves were also relocated. The sign calling it the Black Gold Cemetery just appeared a few years ago. This area was were the Algoma Mining Co was. It is across the river from Lothair. I don't know where they got the name Black Coal.

RE: Charles Rice
Thanks Dennis. I will look again at the published volume of Henry Rice and Martin Rice's book for errors. You and I must be cousins, then? Guess we need to get each other on our trees :)

Dennis, yes you can use the headstone photo on Find A Grave that I had taken. How are you related? I'm not related. Leila

RE: John Rice
My ancestor is John Rice Sr. 1740-1811 who married Elizabeth Elsbury 1743-1792. I thought he might be a son of Henry but have no evidence.

Poley Miranda/Mary Rice
Hey Dennis, I saw you were inquiring about some of the Rice families with the Keiths. I don't know if I could help you. My husband's line is William & Poly Rice. Poley is the sister of Peter T Keith. Why they were living w/ them? I don't know. 1850 Census Knox, KY shows Poley as Mary age 11. Her parents are James Keith and Ama Keith. Let me know if you need anymore down that line. I have quite a bit past them. Hope this helps.

Rice DNA
I don't know of anyone who has taken the DNA test. Hope you find someone who has - it would be great to have some answers.

Rice relatives
Hi, My great-grandmother was Lydia A. Rice Chandler. Some of the other names are aunts, uncles, etc. I tried to inventory the entire cemetery as I came to it and not just the ones I was related to.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for contacting me. I am interested in your Rice line. I will add you as a friend on findagrave. Some others that are researching this line might not have everything correct. I have been researching for 8 years and have actually been to many of the cemeteries I have on my site. Feel free to contact me anytime.

I must have done this late at night to have made such a stupid mistake. Why I didn't connect him to Hiram I don't know but it is all done now. Thank you for pointing out my error. SSS
