My husband, Mike, has a long-time interest in history and genealogy, and I have long been interested in photography. He is retired from the Soil Conservation Service, and I am retired from the North Dakota National Guard. |
Mike and I have written two books about North Dakotans in World War I. The first, 'Ransom County's Loyal Defenders,' is about WWI veterans from Ransom County, ND. The second, 'Warriors in Khaki,' is about Native Americans from North Dakota who served in WWI: http://www.rp-author.com/knudson/.
We are currently doing research for our next book, on Native Americans with ties to SD who served in WWI. Anyone helps us with information or photos will receive proper credit.

|Jeannie Scarber||WWI Veterans 91 DIV|
As a World War One Centenary project. I am researching the WWI veterans buried in Tucson, so far I have 1,748 in the database. I have a facebook page called "The Great War Doughboy Search: Tucson and WWI" where I am posting some of things I learn about the war, and the names of veterans.
Thousands of WWI veterans came to Tucson after the war in hopes that the climate would help their TB or respiratory ailments that they contracted during the war. It also became a popular place to retire. For this reason buried in Tucson are veterans who represent everything the United States did during WWI.
I was thrilled to see that you are researching the 91st Division and I will pass on veterans who are in the 91st to you.

William B.1893 is NOT the son of Adele and Joseph Lenoir. William died in Oregon and is buried at Fort Totten, ND.

It sure would be great if every F.A.G. member would adopt your willingness to transfer memorials to their fellow F.A.G. members.
There are far too many F.A.G. members that think memorial creation constitutes continual ownership not realizing that cooperation is the key to making their memorial a much more meaningful one.

|Wild West Division||91st Division|
Thank you very much for giving me eight names of Native Americans who served with the 91st Division in WW I. Indeed, I would be very interested in your offer of sharing a listing of North Dakota natives who served in the 91st. I will contact you via email.
Many thanks for your help.

Hi Ann, I am a great-niece of Ted (Teafil) Klein. Would it be alright to add the photos you posted for Ted and his wife Mary to their profiles on ancestry.com? I would be happy to credit you with the photos. Their memorials are 101907129 and 106602423. Thank you - Gale
|Red||RE: Albert Grass|
You are welcome. I would never have known he was an Indian chief had I not run across the article. Have you thought about writing a bio and having him listed as famous? Red
