Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born at Burgess Va in the Northern Neck Va, but moved to upper western part of Westmoreland by nine years of age. As an adult I have always lived in the Richmond, Va area. I was always interested in our family history and fortunately my mother heard all the Lewis history when she cared for my Grandmother Lelia Jane Bryant Lewis for five years. My mother at 87 still remembers her family history from her Davis and Clark, also the Lewis and Bryants.

I feel everyone should know their roots, their family stories and the resting places of their ancestors. I have been working on both sides of my family for our future generations.
I am primarily researching Lewis/Bryants/Sebras/Sebrees/Davis/Clarkes/Clarks originating in Northern Neck. I have four generations of grandfathers from my Lewis family buried at Gibeon Baptist Church, Village Va. I have found that most of the folks resting there are relatives in some way and will gladly to help/share with others to find their ancestors to preserve that history for generations to come.

In my search I have found the history/story of a picture in my grandmother's personal items she called "Nora". Nora was my inspiration to do genealogy when I retired. We refer to her as the "Nora" picture, she has been a mystery for over fifty years and we thought she was her maternal Aunt. She was a very quiet introverted spoken woman but talked of her often. The mystery hasn't been a solved completely but there are some pieces of history that have surfaced that does seem to match some of the story. The picture is probably Senora Lewis Hale also buried at Gibeon Baptist Church. Old family stories can change as they get told over again making them more fascinating. She is posted on a younger version and the older,( which I have in my possession). I'm hoping I can find more of her relatives that know the story. All feedback is welcomed.

Westview Cemetery
I was noticing your Westview Cemetery photo request in Atlanta. The cemetery huge and it would help me to find your request greatly if you could call the office and find out the section and lot numbers. They want to charge me for that information. I will happy to look with additional information. Thanks

Jimmy Honeycutt

Good morning,
I am looking for information on Jimmy Honeycutt. Jimmy was a first cousin of my ex-husband, William Stokes. We are doing some research into the Stokes line; Jimmy and EB were the sons of Nan Archer Stokes, William's aunt.
Do you have Jimmy's obituary? William was very sad to find out about Jimmy. He and EB and Jimmy grew up in South Hill.

Bryant and Lewis
Thanks for the additional info you sent me. It really helped.
I am going to send you my notes on your family, tonight, through email, when I get it together. Maybe we can compare. Let me know if you get them and it will open alright. It is too much info to put on here.
From what I see, you are a relative of my husband, but I plan to check and be sure.

That is Great !! This Nora was bothering you I know..these stories told can make you go in circles..but I love mysteries..just don't give up on family.. I would love to see that photo you have, since my husband is related to the Lewis and Hales, Thrifts. Could you possibly scan it to me ? Funny how stories are told, and over the years, the stories get so different from the real story..

RE: Sarah Jones
Please send this information, to be added, through the edit tab on her memorial. Then you hit suggestions/corrections and type in information. This will give me a direct link, otherwise I don't know which memorial you are referring to. Thanks, Louise

Sarah Jones
Sarah middle name was" Montfort" which was used by many of the Stokes family. I this have information via research done by Jennie Marshall Stokes Howe.
She now resides in Gloucester Point VA

I am not an expert at this either, I just love seeing families come together on here...I really hunt census a lot, search graveyards, things like that, an I was born in Westmoreland, raised in Northumberland, and live in Richmond County, so I knew some of the people ..I always listened to what older folks grandparents helped me a lot, as far as finding my family, and my parents..You do just fine..I saw your ancestry family.. you might say this is my retirement fun . Ha !
