My mother is not deceased. Please remove the memorial you have created for her. It is upsetting to see a memorial for her when she is alive and doing well.

Thanks
Martha

RE: Thomas Kinchen
My head tells me it is less confusing if they are reduced to just 2 memorials: Kinchen & his widow Letchworth. I can see some historical nature to the older memorials, that were in a large farm field way out where NO ONE could see them unless the went almost one-half mile from the nearest paved road into that field. That path was uphill, rough dirt, and zig-zagged around a pond -- difficult by any means to reach (except via tractor or perhaps some 3- or 4-wheeler. From that path, one must walk about 50 yards or so to reach the graves. For that reason, we (Sons Of Conferate Veterans unit The Ochlocknee Rifles), felt the graves needed to be moved to safer grounds. We followed the legal course and did so with a full & honorable service for the reinternments. I suppose I could move the photos of the ORIGINAL gravesites to the newer one. I'll even kick in a sponsorship simply to allow more photos. After that, I would feel it would be more fair to the next person SEARCHING for KINCHEN or LETCHWORTH to have one location for one grave. That way, both the original photos & the newer ones could be accessed behind the same listing. Would that be acceptable to you? I would be glad to pass control of both graves to you since I have no blood connections to either person. Feel free to email me at hknauff@lycos.com if you wish. Hope this helps.

RE: Thomas Kinchen 103464593 and 820912951295
Ms. Sinclair,

Thank-you. Please make your postings on Memorial# 103464593 and not Memorial# 82091295. Both are Thomas KINCHEN, but the first grave no longer exists, nor the Kinchen Cemetery.

They are still listed on FindAGrave since I left it there so as to preserve the photos (my computer crashed shortly after I did those) and I plan to get better photos in Providence Cemetery. The newer Memorials show work still being done to assemble the stones. That's complete -- I've just got to get better photos made of the newer gravesites in Providence Cemetery.

His wife's Memorial# will be 103466496 and not 82091558. Both older memorials will be deleted once I've completed my work.

Thank-you again for your compliments.

RE: 36738963 Elizabeth Smith Hursey
Hi Faye

I am not 100% convinced that William C Smith was Elizabeth Smith Hursey/Hersey father although I do have them linked. I have no conclusive proof that he was her father if that is what you are looking for. There was more than 1 William Smith living there in Telfair County and a William Smith lived next door to Thomas Hersey. So I believe her father was William Smith.

I know people have tried to find links of Alfred Smith to William C Smith and I do believe that William C Smith & Martha Babcock were Alfred's parents. Without there being conclusive proof I think the fact that Alfred Smith named 2 of his sons (Jonathan Ashley & Joshua Friar Smith) after Narcissa Smith's 2 husbands shows a very close relationship with William's sister Narcissa.

Lately I have been really working on all the Smith Families and trying to sort them out. I am also trying to find who Mary Mires/Myers was that lived next door to Thomas Hersey & William Smith in the 1830 census and lived with John & Elizabeth Hersey in the 1850 census. I think she is the link between the 2 families.
