Did I send you Nora Thomasma's link to Marvin Thomasma? Her husband was Raymond Thomasma. Brother Marvin was married to Bertha Frazier.

RE: Joe Lane Akins and James Akins
Thanks, Becky. My father died in 1956 when I was 17 months old, and Homer died in the past few years. Johnny, James, and Zada are alive.

RE: Joe Lane Akins and James Akins
Thanks for your quick reply, cousin! It's been exciting to discover so much family information in only three days of searching. The completed leg work of people like you makes it easier for those who follow, like me.

I am Ruby Maureen, granddaughter of Joe Lane's daughter, Ruby Imogene. She married Leonard Patillo (Pat) Jackson, and they had four boys--my father, Pat, Jr., Johnny, James, Homer--and one daughter, Zada. I have found very little information about the Jacksons, but will continue looking. Ruby and Pat are buried near infant son, Billy, in Leonard cemetery where Joe Lane and Nancy Conzaida are interred.

Especially intriguing in Mama Ruby's ancestry are the histories of Sgt. James Akins and James Akin (1635-1713). Fascinating!

Joe Lane Akins and James Akins
I am trying to corroborate the information you posted about my great-great grandfather Joe Lane Akins' concerning his father and mother, James Akins and Martha Anderson. (My research tells me that the Battle of Malvern Hill was in 1862 rather than 1865.) Can you tell me where you located the information about James and Martha?

Etta Howard
I couldn't remember if you were the one who requested a photo of Etta's grave. I found her this morning and posted the picture. Her grave is in Block 255 instead of 25. There was also a little boy, Joe Max Howard near her, so I posted that one also. . . . Sandy
