RE: James M. Brewer? The info comes from a booklet,"Obituaries from Solomon Newspapers 1901-1930" available at the Dickinson Couny Historical Society. These are abstracts from the newspaper, Solomon Tribune. The article reads:Brewer,J.M.b4 Mar 1844 in Ohio;moved to Iowa as a child;mother died when he was quite young.;served in Civil War with 10 Iowa Regt;m 1 Sept 1867 to Sarah Ann VanHorn who died 11 Oct 1911,age 64y;had 9 daus & 5 sons. 5 daus are dead;lived in Iowa until 1879 when they moved to Solomon area;lived here 45y;moved to Calif. 3 mos ago.Died 9 Sept 1924 at home of his dau,Mrs Ross Barton at Poway,Calif.;buried Prairie Mound Cem.;survived by 9 ch.;7 granch & gr-granch;1 bro,Leonard. PRAIRIE MOUND CEMETERY I spent 3-hours at Prairie Mound Cemetery yesterday and was not able to find any of the headstones that you have requested though I did find a lot with some Dewar's in it. I plan on going back to Prairie Mound to look for your names once again.
