Family Tree
Hi Lydia, I am a guest on Ancestry, so I have listed over 800 ancestors (mostly from my cousin's previous research and this site), but I don't have a paid subscription. I can't view the hints, unfortunately. I haven't decided which software program to with yet. When I do decide, I'll have to verify what I do have already. A friend uses Ancestral Quest and the genealogy teacher prefers RootsMagic. I'm not sure which one to choose.

Lydia: FYI, I have the McClendon's (McLendon's) back to our 9th great-grandparents, John McLendon and Deborah Astine in Scotland, probably early 1600's. This info was from FamilySearch.Org site and Find A Grave info. I'm a beginner,research-
ing both my maternal & paternal lines. I was given quite detailed info on my maternal side passed down by my 1st cousin. But, I am discovering new data nearly daily as I research my late father's side.

Hi Lydia, sounds like we are related. Samuel McClendon/Fanny Dumas, were my 5th great-grandparents. Their son, Burrell A. McClendon/Nancy Crump, were my 4th great-grandparents. Their son, Burrell McClendon/Tanoutha Reeves, my 3rd great-grandparents. Their daughter, Mary Jane McClendon/Daniel C. Bynum, my 2nd great- grandparents. Their son, William Burl Bynum, my great-grandfather (who I met before he died) and great grandmother, Mary Ellen Silvey. Their daughter, Eleanor Bynum/Clayton/Mallouf/Edwards was my late father's mother (my grandmother).

John McClendon
Hi Lydia! Did you mean John McClendon (1720-1784)?
If so, which of his children are descendant from?
