I would suggest you submit a photo request from the memorial. You will get quicker response.

RE: John Harris
If you are asking about John William Harris, his parents are linked on his memorial (Wm. Henry Harris and Mary 'Elizabeth' Gross Harris). As for where they lived previously, I found the following in my files:

"The Harris' came from Moxville (Iredall Co.) North Carolina in the early 1840 lived a year or so in Indiana and came on to Hawleyville, Ia. There was a large family of them." [2-9-1961 letter from t.a.h. to m.m.w.]

Hope that helps. mrs

RE: Harris Family
Hi Kay, No, I'm not an ancestry member but have a nephew who is so perhaps he'll be able to check your Harris information. As far as other Harris findagrave memorials, if you follow the links on the memorial for Wm Henry Harris you'll find memorials for other Harris family members in Dallas Center Cemetery New Market Taylor Co IA, Fairview Cemetery Hepburn Page Co. IA, and Hawleyville Cemetery Hawleyville, Page Co. IA. Good luck! mrs

Hi Kay, It appears that we are fourth cousins, once removed, on both the Harris and Gross lines. Four of the children of John and Susannah Kinnick Harris married four of the children of Jacob and Rachel Renninger Gross. "My" William Henry Harris married Mary Elizabeth Gross, "your" Nathan Harris married Nancy Caroline Gross, Alice Harris married Jacob Gross, Jr. and Clarissa Harris married William Gross. The findagrave memorials for William Henry Harris #51702562 and Mary Ellizabeth Gross Harris #38534865 will provide you with more information and links. Your Harris and Gross family information, particularly with Nathan and Nancy Caroline, is welcomed. mrs

Hello Kay, Yes, I am a Harris descendant; William Henry Harris, brother to Casswell and Nathan, was my great great great grandfather. Wm. also had a son named Nathan so I look forward to learning which Nathan is "your" Nathan! Cyrene Harris Mobley Robbins, daughter of Wm. Harris and Mary ‘Elizabeth' Gross Harris, was my great great grandmother. I don't know which memorial you referred to when you asked "Do you know about the other children not buried here?" but will try to answer if you give me a bit more information! Nice to hear from you. mrs

RE: Dory Emiline Nicholson Morrison
Thanks again. They are not at Bethany, according to my list which is fron a large book in the Statesville library. Of course that could be wrong, as Dory was not in it either - they could be there unmarked. I also checked the old Fourth Creek Burial Ground in Statesville; not there either.

Mark Lawson,
