I am a Belgium Soldier , and I am very concerning by the WW2 US airbornes veterans and US soldiers burried on the European ground. I try to find all info, pictures and family contacts concerning these heros . If some peolpe want a picture from a grave in Belgium , I am your man .

 | RE: James F Stepp I have inquired with local American Legion members (he was a former post commander) and they have anectdotally confirmed that he WAS Airborne, but could offer no documentation.  | RE: William H Hall William Henry Hall, Jr. Resident of Antioch Bill, 85, went to Heaven on January 19, 2010. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, November 24, 1924. Bill graduated from Wheeling High School in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was married to Betty Lee Blum on September 20, 1943. He enlisted in the Army on March 18, 1943 and served until February 6, 1946. Bill served in combat in the Campaign of Normandy, Campaign of Northern France, Campaign of Rhineland and the Campaign of Ardennes. He left the military when he was a Sergeant under General Patton when he was wounded in combat in Germany decorated with three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, four Bronze Stars and various other distinguished medals. Bill retired from Dow Chemical after 40 years and served as a consultant for another 2 years. He has been an active member of the American Legion Harding-Noia Post #161, the Forty and Eight, Past Commanders Club, lifetime member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, Antioch Flying Club, and the Air Force Civil Air Patrol. Over the years, he worked to help veterans past and present, served on the Antioch School Board, was a voice to prevent the closing of local Veterans Homes, was involved in various community projects including the establishment of the War Memorial in downtown Antioch, the Homeless Holiday Meals held each year at the American Legion Veterans Building, recognized as Veteran of the Year in the Contra Costa Times and most recently served as the Grand Marshal in the 2009 Veteran's Day Parade. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee; children Jamie; Willia H. Hall, III; Kimberly; and Terri; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sister Gladys Caulfield; many nieces and nephews and many friends and Legionnaires. He was preceding in death by his parents, William H. Hall, Sr. and Ruby. There will be a graveside service at Oakview Memorial Park, Antioch at 3:30pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010 followed by a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Veteran's Hall at 403 West 6th St. in Antioch. Flowers can be sent directly to Oakview or in lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the American Legion Boys State Foundation, PO Box 122, Antioch, CA 94509.
