"STARKEY – On April 26, 1959, BENJAMIN B., aged 79 years, of 1220 Fillmore st., husband of the late Mary Conly. Relatives and friends invited to service, Wed., 11 A. M., Kirk & Nice, 6301 Germantown av. Int. Wm. Penn Cemetery. Viewing Tuesday evening, 7 to 9."

"Benjamin B. Starkey, Publishing Executive Benjamin B. Starkey, former treasurer of the National Publishing Co., 239 S. American st., died yesterday at his home, 1220 Fillmore st., Frankford. He was 78. Mr. Starkey was a well known horticulturalist. He was one of the founders of the Philadelphia Flower Show and served as its executive secretary for many years. He was also a partner in the book binding firm of Murphy-Parker Co., 7th and Arch sts. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary S. Flack, of Frankford. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 A. M. at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home, Germantown av. and Washington lane. Burial will be in William Penn Cemetery, Somerton." | | |
