Fascinated by genealogy which always leads to cemeteries. I enjoy walking through graveyards, reading the names on tombstones, and thinking about the persons lying beneath. Each one of them has a story, a story worth knowing, a story worth telling to future generations. How I wish I had paid better attention when I was young.|

Just a friendly mid June reminder that we need plot info to fill your Cleveland Calvary request(s). We have less than 500 requests left but plot info for only 6% of those, having already filled the rest with plot info. We can't ask for plot info for more than 3 requests per week. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot info. We'd really appreciate it and will fill your request(s) soon after getting plot info. Thank you!

Not trying to nag, just FYI that we've cleared over 200 requests this spring and now have 600 requests—fewer than there were in June, 2012. We'd be happy to clear your request(s) but some/all do not have plot information. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot information. We most likely already have a plot map but will let you know once we have plot info if we also need a map. Thanks!

You've put in request(s) at Calvary in Cleveland. Several of us are working to clear the more than 750 requests. With 400,000 burials and 300 acres, if you could please obtain plot information AND a plot map one of us will be more likely to be able to fill the request, as the office will only give out a little information to each person. The office phone number is (216) 641-7575. On my page I have the plot maps listed that we already have.
You can try to tell them you'll be visiting when they're closed, etc. So far everyone who's called has been successful in having a map mailed. If you get one let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address. With thousands of graves per section a plot map would be VERY helpful. Without plot information it's basically impossible.

Can you help me contact Edith Kobak, a FindAGrave member #47301488.
She lists you as a friend on Find A Grave and has not responded to my e-mails to her.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

You are very welcome. Love your bio, it is exactly how I think about cemeteries too. Did you notice the other names on the stone Thomas & Mary? Also beside the big stone is a small one for a son Patrick Lynch 1885-1917. It also is a big help if you know which section the graves are in. I found the grave in about a minute. I wish they all were that easy to find. Carla:)

I just found a photo I was looking for that shows the area where their crypt is. I posted it to both memorials, but you may want to rearrange the photos to put the name plate at the top (or whatever). Since you seem interested in a bit of "virtual tour," I thought you would appreciate the addition. Also please note that there is a smallish artificial waterfall enclosed by the ramp, which gives a nice sound to the atmosphere (besides the usual breeze in the trees and birds twittering).

I just love the words you wrote here ... and I totally agree!
