Wow, Robert! What a fantastic story! Thanks so much for sharing... Simon is my 1st cousin 6 X removed thru my Myers line... guess that would make us cousins of some kind... he is the son of Johannes Hiller & Catherine Myers... she is my 5th great grand aunt, sister of my 5X great grandfather, Maj. Gen. Michael Myers... isnʻt it something how family features pass down thru the generations... I have photos of my husbandʻs 2X great grandparents... photos he had never seen before... and it is amazing... his brother looks like the grandfather and my husband has his grandmotherʻs nose! Love stuff like that!!!

I just found your photos of Simon & Rebeccaʻs gravestones, as well as the picture of Simon. He is my 1st cousin 6X removed... distant, yes, but still on the tree! May I use the photos on my private family tree? I always give credit to the members who are so generous with their time and efforts. Thanks so much...
|It Matters||Vernon Grover, Erick, OK|
I noticed the photo you posted of Vernon Grover and wondered if you are related. I am a granddaughter of Vernon's brother, Everitt Mitchell. If you would be interested in exchanging family information, I have much to share.
|BF McLaughlin||RE: William Elliott|
Sure! I'm a Covenanter descendent and William married into one of the big pioneer families, and those families are in Old Covenanter that I have a lot of memorials in.
However, if any of those memorials are of interest to you, let me know. The idea is to pass them on to descendents!
|BF McLaughlin||RE: William Elliott|
Absolutely, I'll transfer it to you. I did some work with it, adding some bio info etc. I'd just hate to delete one that another person did, ya know? She had it up in 2009.
Sending it over.
|BF McLaughlin||RE: William M. Elliott|
Robert, actually I noticed that an earlier William Elliott memorial (created in 2009) had been placed in that same cemetery -- but I think the reason they both got past the computers is because the first one was mispelled Eliott. It was a memorial by Luv Big Red (screen name). She transferred it to me last night.
However, maybe you and I could combine our memorial or something since you are an Elliott descendent? I could transfer to you if you're a relative, whatever you want to do. I know that William died in 1856 because I found him on the census with all his kids in 1850 and his wife is widowed in 1860 -- and the Gaston family records (his wife's name) have that info.
|Ann Maree||RE: Hanson Stones|
Hmmm. I don't know of any Arthur or Mildred Hanson. The other message on my page was about Arthur and Mildred Claghorn, my relatives who lived in--and we're buried in--southern California. I am in southern Illinois, if you need anything here, just let me know! Thank you for your work in Hiller Cemetery here, I will try to finish the cemetery pictures as soon as I can. Will try to get a better picture of Albert Hanson. I will post what I have now. Unfortunately, the Hanson stones here are very hard to read now, and crumbling away. :(
