|C.C.Diamond||ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest|
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.
|Paul Rolfe||Christian and James|
I created memorials for the Christian (and one Christen?) and the James for you so you have something to work with. If you know date of death, spouse or any other info about them that might tie one to the family it will make it easier for me to search for you.
She is buried in Apostles section, lot 154, grave 6, by her husband. If you go to her memorial and click on the "Edit" tab (above the grave photo) it will bring up a dialog box where you can enter information. You can then send a note to the man who is managing the memorial and request that he link Cecilia to her parents. It helps if you add the numbers for him - i.e. father Soren #58233477 and mother Johanna #77291036. This will give him the link to go directly to the memorial for Cecilia. You could alternatively click on his name at the bottom of the Cecilia memorial and it will take you to his bio page where you could request the action but then he would have to enter her name or cemetery and go the longer route to get there.
|Paul Rolfe||Baby Jensen|
I checked with the cemetery office and learned the baby is a girl named "Ruth, daughter of E. C. Jensen". Nothing more of any help there. I searched for an E. C. Jensen and found none listed as such but I found two Edward C. Jensens listed. One is buried alone in Memorial Park (across the street from Walnut Hill). The other is buried in Cedar Lawn (adjacent to Walnut Hill) and he is buried beside Ruth G. Jensen. I created memorials for Baby Ruth, both Edwards and Ruth G. so you can see the information I had on them. I suspect you will be able to tie the baby to Edward and Ruth, and Edward in turn to Soren. Also, just for your info - the cemetery book shows a middle initial "C" for Soren. Let me know if this helps - I love mysteries.
|William Tatum||The Jensens|
Thank you for your note to add to the Jensens.I just posted these less than a week ago. I am an ex funeral director and it excites me when families find their relatives that I have posted. This is what keeps me doing this. I will be happy to transfer them to you, as I know they are in great hands.
|Paul Rolfe||Soren Jensen|
Are you aware your request for a photo of the marker is still on findagrave? It appears you have already taken the photos. Is there something more you want of it? Also, I added a memorial for an infant that is buried beside them.
|Paul Rolfe||RE: Savage|
We have the Pottawattamie County Genealogical Society here in town and I am sure they could help you if you decide you want to pursue information on her. Just let me know and I can find an e-mail, telephone number and address for you.
|Paul Rolfe||RE: Savage|
I visited the cemetery this morning and learned the grave is indeed unmarked and the only adjacent marker is a woman.
The Walnut Hill burial book indicates Johanna has an unmarked grave but I have found a number of graves there that are marked in spite of the book notation. This is usually due to a marker being added after burial and the book not being updated. It wouldn't hurt to check it and see if it is marked.
FYI - There is a Johanna J. Savage buried 4/27/1960 in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs. Also Michael Savage died 3/8/2005 in another section of Walnut Hill. And Walter R. Savage across the street in Memorial Park.
