Bio Photo 'Lived in Alaska over 23 years. (Long enough to be considered a "sourdough".)
Before Alaska I lived in California 6 years.
Now, I am retired and live back in Texas.
I am a Texan by birth with French/Cajun ancestry.
(A little Irish/German mixed in there.)
My photo above was taken over 30 years ago.
(Now 63.)

I've been researching my ancestry for several years. Like most everyone else, it has caused an "excessive compulsive disorder". However, my interest in my ancestors stops in the 16th century and I don't care about finding "royalty".

I don't mind transferring memorials
when another FAG member is closer related than I am. (When making a transfer request, please use the correct "suggestion" area.)

I've entered the other Agnes. Memorial #115553355. Would you post the death cert on there? Thanks! Kerry

Agnes Badon
Jackie, I'm glad I questioned you on this! I'll go ahead and enter the memorial for Agnes, the mother of Mary Ann, and I'll let you know the number so you can enter the death certificate. It'll credit you for adding it. Thanks for your understanding and for looking closer at this.

Jackie;

I live in Beaumont, Texas and hve been photographing Forest Lawn cemetery one section at a time. This month I have been working on section K and it is a large section, and close to the bottom of this very large cemetery. With you family in mind I steped into the office and asked about those who have been buried by the state. There is no markers, unless the family has paid for one after the death and burial, our state requires, no material wealth, and if there is family they try to make the family pay for the burial. The main office will try to look up the name and maybe tell me the section he might be buried in, if so I will send you a message.

Thanks for your prompt response. No, I am not trying to rush you. I just was not sure whether my original message reached you.

Rock Church Cemetery (Logan Valley) Comanche Co., Texas
I am not sure that my messages via the EDIT function are reaching you. They do not show up on your message screen. So I am trying again with a Public Message.

I am attempting to straighten out a cemetery duplication problem. The correct cemetery is Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Brown Co., Texas. Unfortunately two other cemeteries have been created and assigned memorials that belong in Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Brown Co., Texas. Those are Rock Church Cemetery (Logan Valley) in Comanche Co., and Logan Valley Cemetery in Brown County. Each of these only has a few memorials assigned to it, so I am asking the owners of memorials in them to reassign those to Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Brown Co., Texas. This is going to result in some duplicates, which will have to be consolidated and then delete the unwanted duplicates.

Could I persuade you to reassign your Grubbs Memorial (#55863451) to ROCK CHURCH CEMETERY, BLANKET, BROWN CO., TEXAS?

As you may know, this cemetery is about 90% in Brown County, and about 10% is in Comanche County. Unfortunately none of the memorials assigned to the Comanche Co. cemetery are actually in the Comanche Co., portion.

Thanks for your help. If you have questions, please contact me.

RE: Jacobs Family
Hi Jackie,
Well, it doesn't look like we are related, but thank you for putting the Teddie Bear on Amanda's memorial. She is likely the daughter of Daniel Peyton 78467292 (b1835, Lawrence Co., KY) and Elizabeth Jacobs (b1838 in Floyd Co., KY). She was 1 yo in the 1870 census, but was not shown on the 1880 census for Twp 11, Gove Co., KS, so I have to assume she died and was buried with the other Jacobs relatives in the Power Farm Cemetery.

Happy hunting for your family members. Too bad we couldn't connect.

Jacobs Family
Hi Jackie,
If you are a relative of Amanda Jacobs 29679300, you are a relative of mine and every other Jacobs in the Powers Farm Cemetery. Care to share with me your pedigree? My gr gr grandfather is John Smith Jacobs, buried in the Powers Cemetery.

Thanks and stay warm,
Meredith 47328765

RE: Butte area
I came here in 1969 from northern Minnesota--still don't own winter gear as heavy as I had there. The Slopers gear seems "normal" to me. Cordially, Grace
