Bio and Links
Bio Photo A longtime interest in genealogy and cemeteries paired with a fascination (alright, obsession) with local history brought me to Find A Grave. Wandering around cemeteries, researching and connecting the dots are the best aspects of genealogy for me. I'm also drawn to the design and typography of headstones--faux bois and Art Nouveau styles are my favorites. And sometimes a stone with the light hitting it just right demands to have its picture taken.

All information I've posted is in the public domain (and some sources have wrong data), but if you'd like to have it removed or changed--or if I've made a wrong intuitive leap, please let me know. Likewise, feel free to contact me to have a relative transferred. Please show me the courtesy of letting me know that you would like to reuse one of my photos. Unhelpful messages from people without a F-A-G account will not be responded to.

Find A Grave Memorial# 134443065
I walked through this entire cemetery and photographed ever headstone. I am putting in any missing photos today.

There are a few stones that are unreadable.
A couple that have fallen down and were much too heavy to turn over.

CAN I SUGGEST looking at the main page of the cemetery the white sign has an address to write to ( I added to this msg )
MAYBE they could help you. Unfortunately there is no other way to contact them that I am aware of.

GOOD LUCK & if they can tell you something about where the grave is located or if it even has a headstone at all.

Put in another request or email me & I would be happy to try and find it. I am not far from the cemetery at all.

RE: James and Eliza Taylor photo request
You're welcome. I know people are disappointed with finding no gravestone but I don't like a photo request languishing forever, so I do what I can. Thanks for your note; appreciate it!

James and Eliza Taylor photo request
I had some time yesterday so I really looked for their stones at Oak Ridge Cemetery (nemorials 23742823 and 30106815). I knew I had photographed all stones in that Block a couple of years ago but was hoping I missed theirs. I did find their plot, based on the stones around them, but unfortunately, their graves are unmarked. I added a photo of the plot for you and their obits. Sorry the result was not more satisfactory, but so many have no stones, for many reasons, I suppose. Any questions, let me know.

RE: Juno Fowler Ward
There is a grave next to Juno's with a name of Mary Ward 1853-1921. Did not find another grave nearby that would provide a clue. I took a picture of this grave also which you can find in this cemetery. I realize that this probably won't help you though.

I grew up in Stanley many years ago and don't recall any Wards in the town but there were Fowlers.

Absolutely! All 26 would be great.

Thanks, John

Thatcher family Chicago
Hi, thanks for the edits for the Thatchers. Would you be interested in having their memorials transferred to you? I'm not related.

Yes I would be glad to have these folks transferred to me.
These are relatives from a THACHER who was a veteran of the Revolutionary War after which the US government misspelled his name on his pension and couldn't or wouldn't correct the spelling(government hasn't changed much since then has it!) so his children born after the war were given the incorrect spelling.
Thanks, John Thacher (Muletrain Find A Grave #47206526)

RE: Henrietta Pflug Staats
Well, I'm going to have to say you're right on that. I've had the Staats in my tree for years, but I believe that's wrong. Thanks for letting me know! I need to consult with my cousin who also works on the tree, and see if he knows what line those Pflugs are. I don't have a Dorothea Helling in my program, so Henriette must not be related. Good that you checked!! Thanks for the info!
