Martis Woodrow Snow
Hi,

I am the daughter of Jerry Franklin Snow, son of Claude and Jessie Snow. Martis was my great grandfather. I am just starting to do research on the Snow side and can't seem to get any further than Col. Waller and his consort, Ann Winston Carr. Do you have any more history?

Many thanks,
Lisa Snow Naumann

Hi Jennie, thank you for your edit suggestions. I accepted the ones submitted through the Find A Grave edit system. I didn't add the information you sent via email because I had already transferred her memorial to you. In your email, you suggest that her husband was Adolph Staeuble. Is it possible that her husband was John August Staeuble? I ask because I saw a John August listed for this cemetery, but didn't see an Adolph Staeuble. Kind regards, Charlie

Gladys Winter.
I am so glad to have some one to share family information with.
I have just put together a photo book of grave markers at the Salem cemetery. I have the grave markers of the two sets of twin boys and the one girl Flora born in 1915.I also have the grave marker for John B, my grandfather and grandmother Gladys. The cemetery is mostly Fosters and Dawsons. Their farms joined each other. I have a family picture showing my great grandmother Dawson and also my great grandmother Foster at a family outing.
I also have the book, Historical Sketches of the Winters Family Pioneer Settlers of Middle Tennessee Part on by Ralph L. Winters.
MY mother was very close to her mother.
More later, Barbara

I was so excited to see this post. I have been working on my fathers family, Dawson and just yesterday decided to work on my mothers. You have some great information.
Gladys is my grandmother and the Cleffie you mention as her daughter, is my mother. I would love to have all the information you have.
My library allows residents to use anstery.com free, but I am finding it confusing.
Hope to hear from you. I have pictures of the babies graves that John and Gladys had and lost. I was at a Dawson reunion this spring and visited the shady grove cemetery.

Gladys Winters Foster
I am researching the family of Gladys Winters Foster. She is a relative. Do you have any information about her children who were stillborn or who died shortly after birth? ancestry.com shows a family tree with a Lloyd and Floyd, twins who died, and the book "Historical Sketches of the Winters Family" lists a twin girl who died at birth. Thank you for any information you can provide! T. Winters winters39@frontiernet.net

RE: John Hogan
Roegeina - No problem on signing the petition. I remember when this happened. We lived in the Winnebago area and travelled West State Street frequently while driving to Rockford, always passing the gas station, with the name Hogan prominently displayed. Even now when I go by that area, I sometimes think about the family. I have never forgotten. Such a tragedy for the entire family. Thank you for keeping his memory alive.
Peace always.

RE: John R Hogan photo
You are very welcome. Glad we could help. We did read about the circumstances of his death and were saddened by the senseless act that took his life. Our condolences to all of John's family and friends. We are curious though if you happen to know if the other Hogans gravestones we photographed was his family. Thanks

BTW
The cemetery has an historian who works there part time who is going to investigate the burial. Did you notice William died exactly 100 years ago this month.

RE: Wilhelm and Maria Liepe
Hi.
So I returned to Wunder's Cemetery today and confirmed that the cemetery has no real record of your relatives being buried there. But, as I was wandering around looking for another headstone for someone else, I stumbled across your family's marker, I posted the pictures today. Unfortunately I did not find any mention of William. If I find out anything knew I will let you know,
