Bio and Links
Bio Photo I lost both my folks in '09 about 4 months apart. After that I started reserarching my mostly unknown family history and was so happy to see all the hard work done by others on my ancestors. Seeing the photos made the person more real to me. I find it comforting to visit cemeteries at the request of others. My parents were always respectful of the deceased and honored their loved ones by visiting their graves. It's a way I can stay connected to them.

My family roots are in Pike County Alabama. Names I am researching include: Walters, Barnett, Kelly (Kelley), Flournoy, Knowles, Butler, Pinckard, Greathouse, McLendon and from Conecuh County Elder, Deason, Barlow.

Roverta Butts Alexander Lyles in Altamonte Spgs, FL
I found the answer to my question re: the name of the cemetery. I have moved her and her mother to Evergreen.
Thanks again and have a blessed Thanksgiving

Thank you for the photo of her stone.(She is my mother-in-law.) You noted that the photo was taken in Evergreen Cemetery. She is buried in Altamonte Cemetery in Altamonte Springs, FL. Have they changed the name of the cemetery? If so, let me know.
Thanks and God bless
Betty

RE: Durden
I looked up her name in a family chart, and I don't see a Martha Durden. That's not to say she is not in the lineage somewhere-will ask my mother who keeps up on that side of our family. I did a photo request for an Asa Durden earlier in the summer for the following member that you can also contact and see if he might have any info from his line. James W. Cunningham, #47261647.

General Marion Head's grave
I went to Crest Lawn twice to get a photo. I could not find it using a map; I searched sections 1, 2 and 3 since they are not well marked. I went back today when the office was open to find out names of nearby monuments. If you are sure it is section 3, lot 31, space 4; I am sorry to say the grave is unmarked.
