|Pam Thompson Herlacher||Are We Related?|
Dear Mr. Dan Feathers,
Where do I begin? My daddy's name is Henry Edward Thompson. He had 3 brothers named Robert, Harry, and Kenneth. Daddy was a quiet reserved man and rarely spoke of his family. In his last years I attempted to ask him about Hazel Feathers, who I thought was daddy's grandmother. Daddy ADAMANTLY told me, "No, she was my mother!" My dad passed away in Colorado Springs on January 21, 2014. His obituary is listed here:
Until yesterday, July 5, 2016 I maintained a membership on Ancestry.com. My research was feeble at best. I remain confused about my dad's family.
If you would let me know how Hazel Feathers and/or you may be related to me I'd be ever so grateful!
Pamela J. Thompson Herlacher

|Linda Neal||Verna Hohenstern - my great-grandmother|
My name is Linda Neal. My great-grandmother is Verna Hohenstern. My grandmother was Dorothy Feathers (Anderson, Borgacz, Duller). My father was John Henry Anderson.
I have just started genealogy and came across your memorial of Grandma Hohenstern. I love seeing the pictures of her as a young lady. I love seeing the memorial for my biological great-grandfather, Bill Feathers. When I was a kid, I would visit Grandma Hohenstern and Pete. I loved having cookies with her and looking at the rabbits. She lived next to my Grandma Borgacz (Dorothy). Many times I wanted to know about my family, particularly Grandpa Feathers, but she would never talk about him or any other family.
I know every family has skeletons in the closet, but I would love to learn more about my family. How are you related? Do you have any more pictures you can send. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks - Linda Neal
|cubfan38||Joseph L. Saw Log Shrode|
Hi... My name is Pat Heynen and I am the granddaughter of Clarence Fairfield Shrode, Joseph's son. I've been trying to find out the basis for Joseph's nickname "Saw Log". Would you have any information?

Dan, if you would please remove your duplicate photo of Statler's Fort sign on the memorial for John Statler, who died in 1826, I took a fairly good photo of his marker earlier this week and would like to add it to his memorial, but the limit of 5 photos has been reached. This is John Statler in Shriver Cemetery in Monogolia County, W. VA. Thanks.
|Patricia Stilwell Jones||Abraham Hiley|
Dan, I have been to Abraham Hiley's gravesite just a few days ago. My grandson Logan actually found it. I have given pictures of the monument to the local DAR and am in hopes that his grave will be marked by them in the near future. Will be happy to arrange a guide to the grave site if you are in the area.
While researching the Revolutionary War Soldiers buried in Perry County, IN, I knoticed you have Abraham Hiley in Harding Grove Cemetery. He and his wife are both buried in the HILEY CEMETERY, Harding Grove, Perry County, IN. Directions to the cemetery are Sec 7, T7W - West of Rome on Hwy 66 to Lamb and Wegenast Cemeteries. Turn left on CR 96 (Old Addison Dam Rd. going into Harding Grove.) and proceed about 2 miles. The Cemetery is on the left side of the road on a high bank and not visible from the road. On the right side of the road is backwater. I hope this information helps. Blessings ~ Christina

Glad to get the added information. I am not related; but we used to know a Stateler family here in Rockport. They attended the same church as us (St.Marks Lutheran)in Rockport.
