Corp Thomas Smith
Alicia:

I have not been able to find Corporal Thomas
Smith's Military record. Can you help me?

Is it in the Texas Muster Roll cards?

Thank you.

RE: Casper Herche Jr
I am looking for his date of death.

In 1853, he married my husband's 3G aunt Mary Ann Black. Their son William was born in 1854. In 1855 Mary Ann married a William Victor (about whom we know nothing!).

They traveled to Grayson Co, Tx with her father and some sibs in 1860, where the child William died of croup in 1860. William Victor and Mary Ann had a daughter named Solena (after Mary Ann's older sister). Nothing more is heard of Mary Ann or Solena.

I was able to locate some Civil War records for William Victor of Grayson Co, TX that make him a Confederate cavalry soldier--last record shows him wounded, discharged and working as a baker in McKinney, TX in 1864-65. I can find nothing of him after that.

Casper Herche
Do you have any information on Casper Herche JR who married Mary Ann Black in Schuyler County in 1853? He died shortly after the wedding. His wife then married a William Victor.
