Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Sara, and I have been working on my family's genealogy for about ten years. I am currently living in West Central Minnesota.

Names I am interested/working on from my fathers: Gerke/Gearke, Espe, Maland, Hoeffer, Plager, Briner, Pike, Stieneke, Handschuh
Names I have info about on my mom's side:
Just, Henke, Schultz, Schlenner, Busiahn, Miller, Kirschbaum, Nelson, Dallman and many others thanks to a family relative that has done extensive work on that side already.

I will do look ups for Willmar, and occasionally add names for the Willmar area cemeteries with pictures, too. I do so with the utmost respect for genealogical purposes so if someone is researching their family, they will at least be able to see where they are buried. Unless asked, the only pictures I take are of older graves, nothing recent. If you see a memorial that you would like transferred, please let me know, and I will do so immediately.

mrs Bartholomew
I also found a GHS for an Edwin Bartholomew that was a musician in the consolidated 47th Illinois Infantry Co K. Unfortunately these stones do not give dates. I have a picture of that also if you would like.

Having trouble locating the notice in Elmwood Gazette in 1894. Please give me some time to re copy it. I'm researching all weddings in Elmwood for our gene society and trying to list deaths from that paper to help others find old deaths. I would be happy to transfer her to you. As to a location in cem...it's just a notice in the Gazette. Happy to help you, as I go to the library 2 times a week.

RE: MRS BARTHOLOMEW
I HAVE SEARCHED THE CEMETERY AND THE BOOK AND I CAN'T FIND A MRS BARTHOLOMEW THAT DIED IN 1894. I DID FIND A BIG STONE MARKED E L B AT THE TOP AND BARTHOLOMEW AT THE BOTTOM WITH A QUOTE RIGHT ABOVE THAT. THAT COULD BE HER SON RIGHT NEXT TO THAT IS A GRAVE WITH A BASE BUT NO STONE. THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE HER STONE BUT IT DOESN'T SHOW IN THE BOOK. IF SHE DIED IN CHICAGO THAT IS 175 MILES AWAY AND THERE ARE SEVERAL ELMWOOD CEMETERIES UP THAT DIRECTION. I CAN FORWARD YOU A PICTURE OF THE E L B STONE IF YOU WISH.

RE: Update
Sara,
I called the that number today & left a message.
A woman called me back, I was hoping to get some kind of location from her. She told me it was too hard to explain. You just need to call & leave her a message & she told me she would go to cemetery to locate grave with you. (weather permitting. Understand there is snow now, we don't have any yet.

RE: Update
Sara
I don't want you to get hurt/or have any kind of trouble doing this for me. I would be afraid too if there are gangs messing around in the cemetery. How big is the cemetery? I have never been there.

Stieneke
Rather than try to figure out which ones are related to you I transferred all 19 of the Stieneke memorials to you as I have a feeling that if one was related they all are. I've tried to link them from info I could find but you may want to check to verify I got them right.

Gearke Family
Memorials have been transferred. While on the subject of Aurelia Cemetery I see Stieneke is another of your family names. I have the following uploaded. (I have pictures but haven't uploaded them yet.

Friederich and his wife Mary and their daughter Caroline.

Simon and his wife Mary and their children, Edward, Pearl and Jess plus Jess' wife Maggie and two children, Paul (and his wife Lois) and Carrol.

Henry and his first wife, Sophie and their son Alfred (plus his wife Edith) and Henry's second wife Barbara and their daughter Martha. (I determined who the mothers are by the fact that Alfred was born before Sophie died and Martha after)

That's 18 of them. Are they your relatives also?

I've photographed all the markers in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia (about 2500) and am in the process of creating memorials and uploading the pictures. If you have other relatives there let me know.

Henry Gearke - Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia
I noticed you had the memorial for Henry Gearke at Aurelia transferred to you. His wife, Minnie, all four of their children and their two daughter-in-laws are also buried there. I've created memorials and uploaded the photos of all of their graves. Would you like me to transfer them to you?

RE: Fairview
Sara,
Just a suggestion, call the cemetery (320-235-8201)
and ask if they know the location of the grave. I know what it is like to walk a cemetery to find a grave. Thanks for doing this for me, I still haven't found nothing new on Hans either.
Thanks, Sharon

Christiana Hanson stone
Sara, Wondering if you ever made it out to the cemetery for the picture of Christiana, Christine, & Peter Hanson stone. I believe that was Fair View Cemetery in Willmar, Mn.
