I started out doing genealogy research on my family to see where I came from. During this research I stumbled on find a grave and there was a lot of information there. Someone had taken the time to ensure the information for my family was entered and each memorial was linked. I decided to join and try and put as much information on the site for people buried in my area to help others the way find a grave helped me.|
I started out by photographing all headstones in the Plains Cemetery. I entered all the ones not already listed. Some of these were pre needs stones that are there but no one is buried. I have since deleted these memorials due to find a grave rules. I apologize if there was any hard fillings about these memorials.
If I have a memorial that I have entered of your family member just request a transfer and I will be happy to transfer it to you.
I am on the Plains Cemetery board. I want to make the records on find a grave for the Plains Cemetery as accurate as possible since so many use this site for genealogy research. We are currently putting together a series of books with all obituaries and death certificates for all those buried in the cemetery. We also came out of the dark ages and purchased software to record all burials. I am in the process of entering all burials into the database and mapping the cemetery. It is slow going but is coming along.
Through the cemetery I have access to the Shrider Funeral Home records for the years they were in business in Sanders County. If there is anyone needing information contact me and I'll see what I can find.
My family was in the Mormon faith from the start of the church and shared in many of the hardships they had to deal with during the years of formation to today. My Great-Grandmother, Nellie Mae Emmett always said it was her biggest desire that when I grew up I would go on a mission. I am not Mormon, but a Mormon friend once said being on a mission does not always mean going out into the world. They said that what I am doing is a mission. I hope my Grandma feels that what I am doing fulfills her wishes.

|brandon henderson||Sigurd "Slim" Yterhus (1889-1974)|
It is interesting to note that Sigurd "Slim" Yterhus' headstone was etched in error...He was born 29 December 1889, at least according to his death certificate and ancestry.com.
Thank you for your time and edit, and best regards,

You have a photo of his headstone posted on his Find-A-Grave entry. Do you allow your photos to be copied? I would like to add it to Family tree on Ancestry.com. There is ANOTHER Find-A-Grave entry for him showing him having been buried in Thompson Falls. It includes a good deal of bio information for him but if his headstone is in the cemetery in Plains, I'm thinking that is where he was buried rather than in Thompson Falls.

Could you please correct the maiden name for Lillian Agatha Kennedy. Her correct maiden name is Esau. I am her granddaughter and have personal knowledge of this.

Thank you for Goode transfer-

Thank you for maintaining these records for Plains. My father, Amos, would like it that everyone can see his memorial. I have been to Plains many times while he was living to visit and always loved it there. Again, thank you for your dedication to the memorials of Plains.
