Bio Photo Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
So many years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

RE: Andrew & Delilah Cox Allred
Wow! I've never managed a memorial before, but this will spur me on to add information I do have. Since I have so much information on Andrew & Delilah before they moved to Montgomery I want to get more info after their move too.

I have a question. I have heard that Oakwood has it's own set of internment records. Do you know if this is true?

RE: Andrew & Delilah Cox Allred
Hi ,
Thanks for the info. Ancestry also now has this internment card. I have a tree on ancestry and have lots of info on Andrew Allred until he moved to Montgomery from Blount County, AL.Delilah was his 3rd wife.

Are you related to Andrew & Delilah? If so, I would like to share more information.

Andrew & Delilah Cox Allred
I have "thought" for a long time that Andrew Allred and his wife Delilah Cox Allred are buried at Oakwood , as they lived in Montgomery, AL and many of their family members are buried there. Is there documentation of this that I would be able to get? I take it they are in unmarked graves? They are my gggrandparents and I have approximate birth dates but no death dates. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated as I see you just recently made their memorials.

Thanks So Much,
Adeline Allred Terry
