Born a Sansom. Granddaughter of a Ball. WV will always be my home, but I live in FL. FAG is WONDERFUL! When my father (a Sansom) died in 2009, I became the owner of many family documents going back to WWI. In trying to fill in gaps in the information, I started searching online. I found useful information and information posted regarding my family that was totally incorrect. Through some wonderful people I've met on FAG, I have been able to fill in gaps and locate "lost" cemeteries and place markers on graves of my family members who had never had a marker. THANK YOU to all the people who make FAG work!
Sansom Family Details.... Hello...my name is Susan Smith. I am the daughter of Nina Fern Sanson Smith. My grandfather was Albert Ernest Sanson. Yes, I know....it is spelled Sansom!! I too, am researching the genealogy of the Sansom's and McCallister's, along with the Nelson's and Miles'!! I am missing some spots in my tree!! Can't have that! I am a retired schoolteacher and would LOVE to have this composed as soon as possible. If you wouldn't mind, could you contact me at SWSmith1962@suddenlink.net? I live in St. Albans, West Virginia and would love to hear from you....I am not sure where to go next. Thank you and I look forward to place the missing pieces to my family puzzle!! I appreciate your time. Susan W. Smith--daughter of Nina Sanson Smith, granddaughter of Albert Ernest Sanson and Margie Ellen McCallister Sanson.
trying to find Information I am Willis Clinton Sansom Jr's daughter. I live in Winder, Ga, about an hour outside of Atlanta. I'm interested in finding out anything I can about my ancestry. I wondered if there were any photos out there of my Father as a child, or any of his siblings. I am 29 years old and have a brother and a sister. I also have 4 kids of my own. My father is deceased, and only has one sister and his brother still alive. Any information or photos would be greatly appreciated!
Sansom No, we're in Michigan, but were visiting my granddaughter in Alabama and stopped in WV on the way there AND back. (Found some directions, but it took us the second trip to actually find the cemetery.) Will be headed south again in a couple of months, so will plan again to stop at Franklin Cemetery.
Edward Workman Sansom What a wonderful treasure, the picture of Edward and his second wife! My name is Penny, and I'm helping out my boyfriend, Mike Adams, who is a great-grandson of Edward. His grandmother was Dora, the youngest (I think) of his children by his second wife. She was born 38 years after Albert. She married Albert Farrell and her daughter, Opal, was Mike's mom. We were just at the Franklin Cemetery the beginning of this month, and may be visiting again in August. We did not find Edward's grave there, but we weren't sure who else in the family was buried there besides Dora and Albert. Now that we know, we'll be looking more carefully and taking more pictures. Just wanted to touch base and say hello to Mike's newly discovered Florida cousin. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you would like to talk to Mike directly.
RE: Everett Sansom I believe there are two Sansom Cemeteries - one at Garrets Bend and one near Griffithsville. I am following up on this and have deleted the entries in the Sansom Cemetery at Garretts Bend.
RE: 74563067 I added the obituary and also for his wife, Winnie Perdue Sansom.
Is there a different Sansom Cemetery at Griffithsville? I was only aware of the one at Garretts Bend, off Upper Road: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GSln=Sansom&GSiman=1&GScnty=3085&GRid=74563067&CRid=2303248&
I cataloged the Sansom Cemetery at Garretts Bend late last October.
