Thanks for the transfer back. I just fill the requests, don't make 'em up. Your Smiths might be in another Forest Lawn cemetery. cb

RE: Regarding Robert Barnes photo request
Any Find A Grave member can request a photo for any of the memorials, except for "famous memorials". But only one photo request for a memorial can be pending at any one time. You requested a photo for a man buried in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, Orange County, NY. When I asked you to find out the lot number, you told me that you had requested a photo for the wrong man and removed that request.

If I were you, I'd either search an online telephone directory or call information for the telephone number of the cemetery's office. If one doesn't exist, call the office of the County Clerk, City Clerk, or the Town Clerk (if in a township). Note that some cemeteries are very helpful while others are the opposite.

RE: Regarding Robert Barnes photo request
I went to the memorial to request a photo, but someone already has done so. Only one request can be made at a time. The requester is the person who left the token on his memorial. There are 47 requests for that cemetery, dating back to 2009, so I wouldn't hold my breath. You MIGHT increase your odds if you contacted the cemetery to ask for the location of the grave (section, lot, path name) and had it posted to his memorial. Ask the other requester to notify you if a photo turns up. Maybe that person, Joe, is a cousin???

RE: Regarding Robert Barnes photo request
It can take many weeks for the F. A. G. people to get to an e-mail request. They seem to be getting farther and farther behind in dealing with them. patience is definitely the watch word.

Alternately, read through the FAQs about photo requests. I think I remember reading that there's a limit of how many requests to ask for in a certain time frame. Could that be the problem?

Alternatively, go to the site forums and post your problem into the new "Official: Ask An Admin" section: http://www.findagraveforums.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=57&page=1

Alternately, remind me who it was you wanted to request a photo for and I'll submit the request. When/if someone responds with a photo, I'll let you know.

There is no place online where you can see any Oklahoma death certificate. You will have to go to oklahoma.gov website and see if you can find how to order one.

RE: Regarding Robert Barnes photo request
Is everything okay now? You were able to request a photo for this man?

Try logging out and logging back in. There can be glitches at F. A. G. from time to time. If it refuses to work for you, contact the administration.

Your name is the one linked to this photo request, last one on the list: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=rapList&rapMode=cemetery&rapCemeteryId=64844

If you made the request in error, you can delete from that page.

All the best, J

Regarding Robert Barnes photo request
Hillside Cemetery is a fairly large, spread-out cemetery (~35 acres, 10,000+ burials). Call Benedict Monuments at 845-343-5117 to find out the section and lot numbers. The pathway name would be helpful, too. If you wait for a photographer to stumble across the grave, it may take a long time.

All the best, J

Eliza Smith at Oak Ridge
Hi, I took pictures of the plot where Eliza is located but there is no visible headstone for her. It could be the toppled one, or maybe the others in the picture refer to her. Also, the big stone says Robert and Clara Smith if that means anything to you.
