I am a retired general office clerical worker, a family genealogist/historian with one published book to my credit - have been doing family genealogy since I was a "kid" - have been interested in it all my life. I have 11 siblings, and am the oldest living. I have 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren plus 3 little great great grandchildren. I must admit a few (and very few) are not direct descendents but acquired through children and/or grandchildren's marriages.

RE: Edith May Waughtel
I guess I read your message incorrectly. Sorry about that. I have put in an inquiry to see if Mrs. Boone is buried where you have her added on the site. I"ll let you know what they say.

RE: Edith May Waughtel
Hi, The family tree I found on Ancestry says that Edith was born and died in 1903. I was just passing on what I found since you wanted dates for her that were unreadable on her memorial marker. On the tree, it says that the parents that are linked to her site are her parents so I'm sure it is the same Edith. But trees can have errors in dates and relationships. I thought you could then call the cemetery she is in and ask when she was buried and they may tell you 1903 or a different date.

My thoughts. I do take photos but in my opinion, I feel it is up to the person who adds someone to the site to know for sure where they are buried at least.

If they aren't sure where they are buried, I am always in hopes that a call is placed to the cemetery to find out and if they are there, that the person gets their location and then adds them to F.A.G and put the location under the "Plot" link on the person's site. Some, but not all, cemeteries have phone numbers listed under the main page for the cemetery. If no phone number is listed, one can try googling to find one.

And then once added to the site, on the right it says, "Request a Photo" click on it and submit a request for a photo. Then you hope a volunteer will claim the request and get a photo if there is a marker....or at least the general location if there isn't one.

That is the my feeling as to how to use this site. However, I will call and find out if she is there. If she is there, depending on her location, I will try to get a photo. If she is on one of the huge hills, then I won't be able to. I get vertigo.

I hope I haven't offended with all the above. Just my thoughts as I don't think it is up to the volunteer to confirm if a person is buried in the cemetery they are listed under on the site.

Best regards.

Your message to me.

You sent me a message referencing the above and that I might wish to check a "tree" on Ancestry referencing a family which might be hers. It is, but so far I have found no information regarding the above person.

Also you mention that you take photos at Old Tacoma Cemetery. I just uploaded a picture of a lady who I believe may be buried there but not sure how to go about checking it out. Her name is Mrs. V. Alma Boone and her Memorial#142198762. Would you be able to get a picture of her resting place? Or do you need more information. She was a sweetheart. She took care of my children from 1962 until she entered the hospital in 1970. I will be writing up her obituary soon. Thank you.

I am very sorry, even when I took the picture I could not decipher any dates on the stone.

I'm sorry, I don't have any information. I just saw the request and was nearby. It was helpful that the plot number was on there so it didn't take me long at all to find. Best of luck with finding more info. =)

Clarence Waughte Memorial
HI Antoinette,
Just a note to let you know I've replaced the photos for the Waughtel memorials and The Horn family. The old ones were taken in the fall. These at least have green grass in them.
While there, I couldn't find Clarence(he has a flat marker and I asked a man gathering the flags of veterans if he had seen the one for Clarence. He went to the shed and checked and helped me find him. As it turned out he said he lived next door to Clarence when he was a kid! His last name was Oberdorff.
Have a great day! Virginia
