In an effort to find my missing Aunt, I came upon Find A Grave and genealogy. Now three years later, I've made serious in-roads on both my family and my wife's family trees; though I've still not found my missing Aunt!!
Lorraine Barbara Knapp was born 22 Jul 1926 in Shell Lake, Washburn, Wisconsin. She married John Charles Hurd on 4 Sep 1948. To them five children were born; three remain alive as of May 2013. Her two younger brothers (one deceased), ex-husband (deceased) and her children have no knowledge as to her whereabouts. A missing persons report has been filed, DNA samples and dental records submitted, Social Security Number checked . . . no clues. NamUS (www.findthemissing.org) searched. The profile picture is Lorraine, 1984 in Riverside, California, her last known residence. A link to her Ancestry.com profile is listed below.
This page is dedicated to her.
Finding, documenting and sharing through this venue helps to build family stories and honor those we loved as well as those whom we never knew.
Family is important!
"The family is our refuge and our springboard; nourished on it, we can advance to new horizons. In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past, bridge to our future." Alex Haley
The memorials I add or manage are all relatives. You may use any / all photographs that I have added if you credit "Tom Knapp" as source. Source is important in that if others want original documentation or additional information, they know where to seek.
Suggestions, corrections, additions, etc are always welcome to those memorials I manage.
A hearty "THANK YOU" to all the volunteers!!! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and create everlasting memories for generations to come.

 | RE: Myrtie Constance (nee Knapp) I have no problem with you using the photo and thank you for asking. There were 4 more graves by Myrties, a Charles, Margaret, William and an infant. Let me know if these are relatives also.

 | Memphis National Cemetery I have searched the Memphis National Cemetery for George Knapp. There is no headstone for this man there. If he is buried there he lays under a headstone marked unknown. If you like I can put a photo of an unknown U. S. Soldier headstone on his memorial. Please let me known if that is what you wish.

 | George Victor Maus Find A Grave Memorial# 76828636 Thank you for taking the photo for George's grave site. Would you please add the photo to his wife's memorial for me. I created a memorial for her and linked her to George's memorial. I really appreciate your help. It means a lot to me to discover my Maus ancestry in the east. Having a photo attached to their memorial makes them seem more real to me instead of just having a name.

 | Sarah Duval Hello, I believe Sarah Duval is on the other side of her husbands headstone. He headstone is knocked over and laying flat in the ground. I wish I could turn it over, but it is too heavy. If I ever find a way I will look.
