My name is Betty and my husbands names is Richard we both retired from Rockwell Int we built the B70 and B1 boombers and we built the Space Shuttle,we worked in Mississippi at BaySaintLouis where we Quailified the first 3 main engines for the shuttle program and then went to Florida with the engines and stayed throught the first 25 Shuttle launches,before we retired.We Live in a small town named Gordo,in Alabama we are only a short distance from the University of Alabama and enjoy all the sports they have there.We teach softball in our spare time and volunteer at the local Elementary School here. | |

I took that photo at the same time but someone else had claimed the photo request.  | The date on stone is Edwin Sledge Cobb's birth date... he died 12/25/2007.. his obit.. Birmingham News (AL) - December 30, 2007 Deceased Name: COBB , MR. EDWIN SLEDGE COBB , MR. EDWIN SLEDGE of Demopolis, age 93, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis with Rev . Tommy Carr officiating with interment following in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, William (Loretta) Cobb of Montevallo, AL; four grandchildren, Cora Causey of Mountain Brook, AL, Emily DeAngelo of Carlisle, PA, Samuel Patton Hand Brasfield III of Monterey, CA, and Meredith Smith of Montevallo, AL.
Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his loving wife, Inez Land Cobb , and his daughter Jane C. Nettles.
Pallbearers will be Elders of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Cobb was a retired Automobile and implement dealer for Sheffield Truck and Tractor, the Sunday school superintendent for many years, a member of the Demopolis Kiwanis Club, Demopolis Cemetery Board, and an Elder of the Presbyterian Church for 50 years.
The Family of Mr. Cobb request in lieu of flowers that donations are made to the First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis, 300 N. Strawberry St. Demopolis, AL 36732 or to the Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871
