RE: Moses Boardman Thanks, for the message. The photo is actually of my mom and I. My mom passed away October 13, 2010. We had just started working on the genealogy for our family in August and it's kinda become a mission of something.
The info that I have is from familysearch.org. It has the pedigree, known dates, marriages, where they are buried, etc. I'll email it - maybe there will be some info you don't have.
Thanks for all your kind words. I'm learning as I go along. It's all been very interesting!!
Moses Boardman I've found info dating back into England around 1530 but I can't find any other mention in Granville other than what I previously sent - he fell from a wagon and lived 12 hours.... if you have an email I'll send what I have in a word document. Hope it helps...
Moses / Abigail I walked the entire cemetery today and couldn't find either one of these stones. I did find church records that indicate Moses "fell from his wagon, lived but 12 hours" and was 53 years 2 months 14 days old when he died. He was also a Revolutionary War Veteran. I've left a message with the historical records place to try and go by to look at the volumes listing this information and hopefully get some idea of where in the cemetary to look. Unfortunately most of the older stones in this particular cemetery are not legible while others are broken and stacked. Because of the current temperature (25*) I wasn't able to look at the stacked ones as they are mostly covered with snow under which is a fairly thick layer of ice. I don't give up easily and I really want to know where the stones are now too. Until the weather warms up some I won't be able to look at the stacked and broken ones though..... sorry.
Photo request I'll try to get out this weekend for pictures. Unfortunately we've had snow the last few days and I'm on my 3 days / 12 hrs a day shift right now. Sunday is s'posed to have sunshine and I'm off work till Thursday 01/20/11. This is my first attempt at this but I live here in town - shouldn't be to difficult, right?
