Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been intrigued by genealogy since I was 7 sitting at the feet of my maternal grandparents listening intently to their stories, oft' retold. That first love has morphed into a passion. I now enjoy helping others with their genealogical problems especially for those with ancestors in the Greater Grand Rapids area.

One of my greatest thrills comes from finding lost graves: those buried under sod and soil sometimes several inches deep. These headstones haven't seen the light of day for many decades. Photographs of those stones recovered can be seen at my website: lostgraves.org.

cleaning headstones
Is there a safe, acceptable way to remove lichen from a headstone? I think it would help make a headstone readable if I could do that.

Jay: Thank you so much for the photos of Luther, Hannah and Betsey Colby. Without people like you I would never have been able to see where they rest. Thank you for all your time and help! God Bless, Lauren

The Canfields
Hello,
Thank you so much for your work on the Canfields. Clarissa is a Hamsher and that is my mother's family. I'm trying to find as many of the Hamsher family as possible. Your help is very much appreciated!

RE: Ira Barnes
Hi again, Jay,

As a matter of fact, you did photograph the Morsman's- I had put requests out for them a little while back and you took some awesome photos for me! I'm sure you do a lot of volunteer photographing, so you may not remember.

I can't thank you enough for all your help and research! I realize how much time is involved with all of this and it's MUCH appreciated!

Ira Barnes
Hi again, Jay!

Wow, I can't thank you enough for the WONDERFUL photos you took of the Barnes Family plot!!! I very much appreciate the forethought in taking the children's headstone photos! Not to mention cleaning them off like you did, that was very kind and thoughtful. I do have them listed on Ancestry.com, but never thought to make memorial pages for them on Find A Grave. When I do, I would love it if you would add your headstone photos for them, or even if you would want to make the pages yourself, that's great, too!

I really need to get out to this cemetery! I obviously have quite a few relatives there! :)

Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Your Findagrave Friend,

Melinda
