Bio and Links
Bio Photo My Clayton ancestors migrated from the Spartanburg, South Carolina area to Gilmer County, Georgia in the 1850 census, Jackson County, Alabama in the 1860 census, Franklin County, Arkansas in the 1870 census (but came by way of Indiana - where my grandfather was born), then to Morris County, Texas in the 1880 census. I have remained in the Northeast Texas area, while some of the family moved on to the California, Oregon, and Washington state areas.

Ira Hicks Clayton

Just a heads up....Ira's marker is covered with dirt. A young lady named Kimberly has contacted the cemetery and has requested that the marker be brought back up to ground level. With this said, it will be a few more days (possible a week or more) before a picture can be made, but it will be worth the wait.
Good luck and fortune in your search here forward.

I took all the Claytons that were in the Johnson Grove Cemetery. All were together including Marcus' wife.
