I am interested in my family history and lineage. I have served as a State Representative from Georgia (nee Mills), on many Board of Directors and involved with many organizations through the years. I live in Georgia with my family.

I love history and genealogy and if you are cousin and want to share family history, stories, and or photographs please feel free to email me. debrafrieden@gmail.com

We are related to 8 Presidents. Our family of Presidents are George Washington, James Madison, Zachary Taylor, William Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, George Bush, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. We are also related to George Mason.

I am a direct descendant of 18 bloodline great grandparents (many fathers & sons) who served in the American Revolutionary War. We can trace several lines to Jamestown.

My great+++ grandfather, American Revolutionary War Patriot, is Peregrine Fitzhugh, son of "War Billy," William Fitzhugh of Maryland who served as a Delegate to the Continental Congress. Peregrine Fitzhugh was initially with the 3rd Dragoons (or Lady Washington's Horse (aka Life Guards)). He was wounded by bayonet, in Baylor's Massacre. Attacked under the darkness of night by 600+ British Soldiers quietly by bayonet, and led by "No Flint Grey" to their 125+ Continental Soldiers . Surprisingly Peregrine survived, as the British generally killed officers. Peregrine served 2 years as a POW. He was finally ransomed with money loaned from a Fitzhugh family friend, Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. George Washington's letters to Peregrine's father William, update he and his wife, on Peregrine's reports of health and progress of the "prisoner exchange" throughout the years. Peregrine's next post was as Washington's Aide de Camp which also required the title of Lt. Colonel, at the end of the war, a most trusted position. He retired at the war's end, when Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, went north and married his sweetheart that December.

John Sevier is also a great+ Grandfather. He was Governor of Tennessee.

US Senator Hugh Doggett Scott Jr. is my great Uncle (brother of my grandmother).

Family surnames: Hill, Scott, Doggett, Haynie, Fuller, Fitzhugh, Wyly, Caswell, Cleveland, Sevier, and others.
