Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interest in documenting family history information began with a school project in the 1960's when I needed to interview my grandparents. I still have the notes from that interview!

I have updated/entered the information for the Zion Lutheran Cemetery from the cemetery association documentation.

If you find any errors and/or duplicates or if you have additional information for any memorial I've posted, please don't hesitate to send me a Correction/Suggestion from the EDIT tab. I'll be glad to make corrections/additions.

Photo's for Zion Cemetery are available here:

Please read the Transfer Requirements before requesting a transfer. Please send all transfer request through "suggest a correction tab" with valid email address.

Thank you!
Peg Krueger

RE: Mehlberg -Julius

Gotta be honest with ya - I'm thinking back on the hundreds of old Shawano County obits I've added from the 20's & 30's - many of them stated that they were from Pommern, which was another word for Pomerania. It's by expert opinion that there's an 80% chance that your tribe was from the Stettin, Pommerania area. By the way, I'm a Krueger whose GG grandfather was from the Stettin Pomerania area. ;)

Well, just as I suspected, there were at least 3 different areas your Mehlberg could have came form;. There was a HUGE tribe of them from county Brandenberg (area surrounding Berlin) and another from Pomerania & then West Prussia.

RE: Mehlberg -Julius

Just to let know that the majority of Germans that arrived in Wisconsin, especially Marathon, Lincoln & Shawano counties were from Pomerania & West Prussia (Former provinces of Germany until WWI) If they were from West Prussia, you might have a little luck with old church book records. I'm not exactly and expert on Pomerania though.

Well, no, it's just the German version of the English obituary.

Reiter graves
I just saw you had some Reiter graves on Find A Grave. I would like to get some updated Reiter information. My grandfather was a brother to Marie Reiter Kruger Lang.

Zion Cemetery
There, as far as I can tell, the transfers are complete for those memorials that I had created.
