RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 86051072
Timothy, I first found it from his death certificate. I have since joined Ancestry and the marriage record concurred with the spelling, although I had inadvertently placed an extra "e" that I should not have. AND names are not always just exact, but this is the only way I have found it for Susan so far. I have put marriage record below just for you to view:

Missouri Marriage Records, 1805-2002
Name: George W Lucas
Marriage Date: 27 Apr 1863
Marriage County: Clark
Spouse Name: Susan Jane Fifeld

Hope this helps!!

RE: smith family names
I am not sure if they are the same family. The reason they are numbered in sequence is because I uploaded the names I have for the Jenny Lind cemetery by spreadsheet, and the spreadsheet was alphabetical so Findagrave numbered them in the order they were on the spreadsheet.
I have put the info I found on William Smith onto his memorial. In 1900 his wife stated she had given birth to 3 children with only 1 still living. That might indicate that the 2 girls were her daughters, but the dates listed for Angeline in 1963 when the DAR did the cemetery survey, would then have to be wrong since they state she died in 1913 and she would have to have died before 1900 to be a child of Lutitia Lucas Smith. There have been quite a few mistakes found in the DAR surveys so this might be what happened here especially if the marker was wood as they state was the case for the other child

I had added Gladys in November of 2011. I added my picture of her headstone to your memorial and deleted my memorial for her. I would have transferred her to you if you had asked or just deleted mine had I known you added another for her. I see no sense in having two for the same person on F.A.G.and taking up space on their site.

RE: Col, Hyer
Timothy, actually what I have done is to take a small piece of artist charcoal and lightly color in the printing. Then take the picture. I have talked to cemetery folks and they have no problem with that as when it first rains, it removes the charcoal with no damage to the stone. Just a trick to do in any future endevors. Again thank you very much for taking the time to take this photo.

James E. Murphy
Thanks for filling my photo request. From the photo, Murphy was with the US Volunteers (U.S.V.). Some headstones of the Rough Riders (1st US Volunteer Cavalry) have used the same unit abbreviation. Thanks for helping with my research.
