Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have had a life-long interest in genealogy cultivated by my grandmother, Edna Leora McConahy. She gave me my start in tracing my family tree, and I have found my family has a rich history that dates back farther than I ever hoped.

I have been on the receiving end of many Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness, and would like to thank the donors.

RE: Mary Ann Phillips Burkhart
Hi, all the children are now linked to her memorial denoting the actual burial site, and the memorial in Georgia is now designated as a cenotaph; the memorial manager of that one put a nice description in the bio to indicate where Mary Ann is actually buried - everything looks great.

Mary Ann's burial location with spouse and all known children linked:

Mary Ann's unused grave plot in Georgia:

Since Mary Ann is your great-grandmother, she falls within the required 4 generation transfer rule that Find A Grave established - you could ask both memorial managers to transfer these to you for your management and that way you can ensure no other memorials get linked to the cenotaph.

thanks, Karyn

I just saw your Thank You on Find A Grave for info on Phoebe. She is also my third great grandmother. Would you please contact me about her?

RE: Mary Ann Phillips Burkhart
Hi, actually they can both stay. The one next to her husband where she is NOT buried needs to be designated a CENOTAPH. The one where she IS buried should be the memorial that is linked to her husband and children (and parents if they are ever located). The only problem that ever comes up when someone has more than one is other people want to link the spouse to the cenotaph and the burial location memorial too, and it makes it looks as if there's two spouses with the same name (like it does right now). OR sometimes half the children get linked to the cenotaph and the other half to the actual burial memorial, and then they look like half-siblings when they aren't (like some are now, but hopefully all the contributors will respond to the linking edits I sent to link to the burial in Ohio).

I can send in to an Admin to get the one in Georgia marked as a CENOTAPH but it should definitely NOT get merged into the actual burial location in Ohio. Since there's a marker in Georgia it's a legitimate entry on Find A Grave.

Mary Ann Phillips Burkhart is mother to Dolly Burkhart Buckner, who was married to my great-uncle William Elbert Buckner.

Thanks !

Thank you so much for taking the time to locate and photograph the memorial for me it is greatly appreciated. Was wondering if by chance he also had a military marker in addition to the family headstone. I would like to ask your permission to use the nice photo you took (with proper credit) for a WWII project I am working on, I hope you will not mind. Thanks again for your time and efforts in fulfilling my request, Cheers!
