Bio Photo In my earlier years of "invincibility", I enjoyed all sports, fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling, RV'ing, working, loving, and learning how to be a husband, father, and now grandfather.
A few years ago, I had considerable difficulty with acquiring copies of my own Birth Certificate, which were then needed. With that experience grew a personal and driven quest into searching ancestral genealogy. It is truly amazing to realize just how many persons are needed to create your own very existence today. And, one can discover how smarter they maybe were than you are.
I recommend "Find-A-Grave" primarily after other research quests. But for your immediate kinship, this will be your most treasured beginning.

Kimplers
Hi,

I have found where Peter B Kimpler, his wife Elizabeth Flora Bockemohle and his daughter Christine Katherine Kimpler Reed are buried. They are all in the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS. I made contact with a woman in Barton County, KS and she emailed me a copy of the Registry and photos.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky for his wife. There don't seem to be any records for her on the site, although I have found census records on Ancestry. I'll have to go through government records in Texas, I guess.

The death certificate you posted for Jesse was so helpful, that I am looking to get one for his wife, Bessie, as well. Did you have to order that and pay a fee, or is there some source where you can get just a digital image? Thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for the transfer. I know that the Llano area has Ratliffs everywhere, and I expect that most of them are related. Jesse & Bessie's 3 sons are buried there, and many of their descendants live there. I won't be trying to go further back than Jesse at this point (I'd rather concentrate on my own ancestors (including Bessie's ancestors). I requested Bessie's memorial from the woman who manages it before requesting Jesse's, so we'll see how it goes! Thanks again for the transfer (and the death certificate).

RE: Joan H Kimpler Williams
Yes, I think we are related or at least you were related to my late husband. Peter B Kimpler Sr (1823-1893)was my husband's 2nd great grandfather. Peter B Kimpler Jr (1858-1944) was his great grandfather. Peter William Kimpler (1889-?) was his paternal grandfather. William P Kimpler (1920-living) is his father. My husband was Terence W Kimpler (1944-2001). I love genealogy!!!

Joan H Kimpler Williams--May 29, 1933 Great Bend, Barton, Kansas, USA died Apr 2, 1962.

Jack D Williams--1923 died Jun 1965 Collier, Florida, USA

I an thinking about making a trip to Great Bend, KS this summer. I live in Morton, IL. My husband and I stopped through there many years ago but didn't have a lot of time to do any research. We found and met Omar Kimpler. We also we to a cemetery and took a lot of slide pictures of markers. I don't know the name of the cemetery, it was out in the country from Ellinwood. We actually wanted to go to the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery but we didn't find it. I want to get the slides out and see what I have before I go to Great Bend.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Do you have access to a book or listing of people buried in the Great Bend Cemetery? I have information that Joan and her husband Jack are buried there but not positive. Her parents are buried in the cemetery and listed in Find a Grave but she is not. I am hesitant to put them in without more information. Can you help me?

Thanks,
Charlene Kimpler

Thank you so much for taking the time to get the photo of her headstone for me! I would like to ask your permission to use the photo on my Ancestry page. I would, of course, be sure to give you proper credit. If you would prefer the picture NOT be used on such a site, I will certainly respect your wishes. May you be abundantly blessed in all you do!!! Alice E. Spurgeon @ Grandview
Thanks for the inquiry and transfer request, they help us prioritize updates to the pages without dates.

We'd gladly transfer to you if it was the person you're looking for, but I don't think it is...

"Our" Alice E. Spurgeon turns out to be Alice Estella (Bone) Spurgeon, who died in 1943 at age 74, and is buried next to her spouse Charles A. Spurgeon.

I took a look at both the California Birth Index and Fetal Death Index at Vitalsearch (a subscription site) for your sibling. The Birth Index does not record a first name for the Spurgeon born on 10/15/1936 in San Bernardino County, just that it was a female whose mother's maiden name was Lunz.

However, the Fetal Death Index shows her listed as Edith Spurgeon, and that she died in San Bernardino County on 10/15/1936 (Grandview is located in Los Angeles County).

You may want to order a copy of her death certificate from the San Bernardino County Recorder to find where she is interred, tho' to be honest, I'm not sure if those records are kept at the county level, or just the state (they could tell you).

Here's a link to their office:
http://www.sbcounty.gov/arc/recorder.htm
You would only need an Informational Copy, which does not require a notarized statement.

Sorry we don't have a match. If there's anything else we can do to help, please feel free to contact us directly at the email listed on our profile page.

Good luck with your ongoing research!
