I have never taken any photographs in De Leon Cemetery, though I have taken quite a number in Downing Cemetery. I have no way of telling which burial place is correct.
|William Mattingly||RE: Robert Crowe|
My grandmother was Nona Mae Williams Crowe, daughter of Robert Thomas Williams and Nancy Angelina Louisiana Pitts. Mom told me stories of Nancy, for example, that she served as a mid-wife. Mom said she remembered her dad putting a rocking chair in the bed of the truck and driving her grandmother to different homes to deliver babies. Robert, Nancy, their son Robert are each buried at Shadowlawn Cemetery in La Grange. It's been a long time since I was there. I believe it was about 1988, about 8 years before my mom passed away. My grandparents, besides raising their own children, raised a nephew, Birdis William Shaw, Jr. (we called him Buddy Boy). He was a son of Archie Queenie Williams. Mom always referred to her as Aunt Queen L.

Actually, Aunt Dot told me Uncle Robert was buried at the wrong cemetery but at the time I suspect she wasn't sure. Robert was my mother's youngest brother and my memorial is not the duplicate, the other one is.
Thank you for alerting me to his actual burial place. This is also where his parents are buried and his brother, Alver Crowe.
Sandy yes you can use the photos. No credit
is needed for me. Glad I could help.
