I have been doing Genealogy since 1990. I am researching my family history and my wife' family history. I am also doing a complete Carkin genealogy which is my mother-in-laws family. In March 2010 I decided that it was time to join find a grave. I am posting memorials for all the burials that I have in my family tree. I am also posting photos as I take them.|
The major names that I am searching are:
Hastings,Luther,MacDonald,Norstrom,Nutting,Patch,Tait, and Wright.
If any information I enter is incorrect or you wish to add something just let me know. I prefer that you use the "Suggest a Correction" feature behind the 'Edit' tab on the memorial. Thank you.

|Theodore Spear||William Nutting of Rensselaer County, New York|
I was working on my family tree tonight when I came across your Find-A-Grave memorial number 62387154 for William Nutting in Elmwood Cemetery with no death date.
I also created a memorial for William Nutting of Rensselaer County, New York. According to an old letter written by Elizabeth (Osmun) Dorris on May 9th, 1849 her sister, Mary, was married to William Nutting and that they lived in Schaghticoke Valley, New York. I traced them to Scott County, Iowa.
The Find-A-Grave memorial I created for William Nutting is number 73406809. According to a transcription of this cemetery William was born November 14, 1819. According to your Find-A-Grave memorial William was born June 3, 1819. I think these two people are the same person. They could have transcribed the tombstone incorrectly. Where did you get the birth date of June 3, 1819?
Could William Nutting have been married twice. First to Mary Jane Reed abt 1840 and then to Mary Osmun about 1845. In my family tree there is a gap between the birth of Ira G. Nutting in 1842 and the birth of Merritt Mason Nutting in 1847. I'm thinking William's first wife, Mary, died in childbirth in about 1845 and then he married a second girl, also named Mary.
Take a look at these 2 Find-A-Grave memorials and let me know what you think.
Ted D. Spear [4th great grandson of John Osmun (1772-1845)]
P.S. Lydia (Osmun) Campbell, her husband, Jonah Campbell, and many of their children are buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
