This gravesite isn't easy to find. I'll try my best to guide you to it. If you go to Google maps and put into the address bar 41.860196 -72.051081, it should put you right on Charles gravestone. Here is a partial map. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152634506807655&set=a.10151332223602655.483815.766882654&type=3&theater

Notice that his last name is Ritchey on the marker, not Ritchie. Two of his children were on the other side of the marker, John and Mary. You might want to contact the manager of the memorial and let him know the last name is spelled wrong.

Feel free to use the photos of Andrew Milbrant's headstone and star in any way you wish. I was to happy to find his headstone in such good shape. So many are not.

Sorry to have missed you via phone. The short answer to your question points to the family relationship I set forth on Bradbury Cilley's findagrave page, #99215315; here I showed Emily Cilley Poole(1836/1916) to be the sister of Columbus Cilley. We are working on a transcription of her Diary and various papers with hopes to publish the same, c2014? Yes we will be including Columbus' photo in that work-- it is Emily who tells us that the photo is her brother, Columbus, so she will be credited with his photo identification. These papers have stayed in the family so the provenance is clear.

Thanks for writing! Good luck with your book project--I am not sure if you published this already and what the book's name is, or if you are recruiting photos for your next version? I am not aware of who your ancestor is that fought with Columbus Cilley? Please post details when you can. In any event, be sure to see the other Venice Cemetery photos which I posted at Columbus Cilley's wife, Agnes Anderson page, and also at each of their two children's pages, findagrave--together these will show you this Cilley family plot better. If you follow the Anderson family links which I have tried to trace also on findagrave, you will see that Columbus's plot is in the huge Anderson family area. Let me know as your project progresses if these cemetery plot photos may work for you--I may have taken others, during my many trips out there... I will look forward to hearing about your book! I too am in the midst of several Cilley related projects, as you should be able to garner via the many findagrave entries... Are you in Ohio?

Yes sure, if you have more info on the Regnier family, that would be great. Please send me an email with it.
|Linda Yates||RE: James Boldman|
You are very welcome and thanks for the info! My friend and I enjoyed exploring this cemetery yesterday. It has some fascinating old headstones.

Dear Caryn, I might have previously asked you this but to be sure I will ask again. I would like to use the grave photo in a book that I and another researcher have put together on those soldiers who served in Battery H 1st Ohio. This book was done to honor and remember those men. Thanks, Ted
of course you may use that photo. let me know if you need a higher resolution of it. good luck with your book.

I thanks you so much for sending the info on my Great great grandfather. All of the military info is the same as I found on Fold3. But the personal info is not correct. You parent Wilson and Martha Briggs cannot be his parents. Albert Nelson died 26 Mar 1864 in VA. W & M's son Nelson lived until his late 80's and I found him and wife Emiline on the 1850 through 1900 US Census' living in Jackson, MI their entire life. Colleen and I also through this was our Nelson until we discovered he died in the war. We also found 3 Nelson Ferris' born abt the same time in NY. The above two as well as a Nelson born abt 1822 in NY. He was the one who joined in Easton, NY and his father was John (from Ireland) and mother was Laney. He had a wife I believe Sarah and two daughters.He also deserted in 1863. She he could have been the Nelson born and with tax records in Rye, NY. SO I know who those two Nelson's parents are, but NOT by Nelson's parents! So frustrating!
Thanks for your communications and for sending Colleen and I the info. IF you run across any parents or sibling of Albert Nelson please let me know.
|Gale Johnson||Re: Albert Nelson Ferris, plot 278|
Hello, Albert Nelson Ferris was my great, great grandfather. He was born in NY abt 1925 and I found him age 35,Henrietta age 25 and their son Albert age 10 months on the 1860 US Census. Their son Albert was born 16 Jun 1859. Albert Nelson was born in NY but had moved to Toledo, Lucas, OH by the 1860. Can't find his parents and would appreciate any family history you or others have found. I am stuck on this family line until I figure out ANF's parents.
Thanks for making my day when I found Albert's grave info. I knew he died in the Brandy Station Hospital in VA, but wondered where he was buried.
Unfortunately I don't have any photo's and no family members to ask.
