It doesn't sound like you had a male do the YDNA, which is the best place to start. Matches are cleaner. If you did MtDNA, down your female line, yes it can be close to impossible to decipher the hundreds of matches--but you may figure out a few over time. If you did an autosomnal test, these are horrifically difficult, in my humble opinion--again except for a few that may come your way with work.

If you are ready to transfer your Ancestry kit, into the Family Tree DNA database, I noticed that they are accepting transfers-- for a fee--so check pricing. Go to my Poole DNA Project and Allied Families, do a join request--which will get forwarded to me. Read online. It is all a learning curve so stay strong.

Thanks so much for writing. Did you see the letter from, was it a C. Scarlett, Fort Wayne IN in Chester Poole's pension files (fold3)...Who is this...If you get a chance to figure out and link via findagrave the two Poole girls who married Newman and Barney Scarlett, then your branch should eventually link to my branch. Also please add your tie into the Genforum, Poole page--see the conversation between Jerry Edwards and Pat Dacus and me regarding a Chester b.1761 branch. I added more info there today. The Scarlett name comes up in the early land patents/deeds as well so home you have luck via bur of land mngmt, blm patent records online. Have you been to Harmony Twp, Clark County Ohio yet and seen the lovely cemetery? Very near I-70 so hop off the expressway and visit the Pool's.

Newman Scarlett m Sally Poole on 16 Oct 1820
Hello-- I just spied your great picture of Newman Scarlett. Thank you so much for posting it. In the entry I notice Sally Pool/Poole as a mother. Have you spent time researching the Pool/Poole line of Clark Co, OH? I have often run into the Scarlett surname over the years while researching my Pooles. Barney Scarlet and Newman Scarlet both arise as having married Pool girls, 1820ish. Isn't one branch of the family from around Fort Wayne, IN? The Clark Co Hist Soc, Springfield OH has many papers via researcher, Mary Skardon/Essen J Pool of Elmhurst IL correspondence. Please add more of the Scarlett graves and link into the Pool family on findagrave. Thank you.
