RE: John Russell
Hello Kelly,
I do see Russell's in my tree; just a few. John is not there, but possibly related somehow. I can't recall at the moment. I'll put in a request to have the notes show there is no stone. Thanks for the kind assistance.

I did some quick research also. I am going to email you as this is getting quite long. Thanks!

I don't actually know any of them. I could try to do that. So, Mary Louise ties into your line through her Cranes or through her mother's side?

You have put a lot of work into this for me, thank you! I don't have either of those names in my tree but I also know I'm missing people. My Cranes came from Calvert Co., MD about 1820 to the Greene/Monroe county areas. They were down around Greene Co. & Indian Creek for a while but some were also in other parts of Monroe. Later, they many moved on into Monroe & some even into part of Brown.

I believe Mary Louise married Glenn Conder. I know that name because my mom was Mildred Louise Crane and she knew Glenn when they were younger. She didn't think she and Mary Louise were related but she also didn't know all of her distant family.

If Beatrice and/or Mary Louise were related, it was probably distant. My ggg-grandparents were James Crane and Christiana Hall, gg-grandparents: John Norval Crane and Abigail Burch, g-grandparents: George W. Crane and Martha Jane Anderson, grandparents: Thomas Franklin Crane and Mary Florence Gilliland.

Was there ever a church associated with this cemetery? Thanks so much for all of your work on this!! - Judy

My grandfather, Thomas Franklin Crane, married Bertha Brummett in 1903. They had 1 child and she died in 1904. However, his mother and brother died before he married (or met) Bertha. George (Thomas' father) was living in Benton Twp, Monroe Co. in the 1900 census. I'm assuming that's where they were living when Martha (Thomas' mother) died in 1898 but I don't know for sure. I have her obit somewhere but I'm not sure it mentioned that. I think they lived near the Monroe/Brown Co. line so that's probably right. If there is a Richardson connection, I'm not aware of it but there could be.

George W. Crane d. 1906
Martha Jane Anderson Crane d. 1898
James M. Crane d. poss. 1886

Don't know if there are any other Cranes or Andersons. Like I said, they shouldn't have any stones there now. Thanks so much!!

Kelly, unfortunately, I've never been up there. I had the name incorrect for years and just recently found the correct one. There shouldn't be a stone or anything visible for them since they were moved to Rose Hill. I'm hoping there were written records from long ago somewhere. Was there ever a church connected to this cemetery? I did check with the funeral home back in the 1980's and they were the ones that confirmed all of this and that they didn't have the records from the original burial. Thanks so much! - JUdy

I see that you contributed a photo of Richardson/Brummett's Creek Cemetery in Monroe Co., IN. Do you know if old records from this cemetery are available anywhere? My g-grandparents along with some of their children were first buried there. Years later, a son of theirs had them moved to Rose Hill in Bloomington. Unfortunately, since they had been interred before, the funeral home and Rose Hill did not take down all of the info for the records. Original burials were 1886 to 1906. I would love to locate these records. Thank you! - Judy

RE: Old Airville Cemetery
Hi Kelly. The cemetery is rather small, and is located next to where the church used to stand. You will need to park across the street at the McKendrie Church parking lot and please watch crossing the busy highway.

The later cemetery is located on the same side of the road but a bit to the north after passing Route 425, Furnace Road.

In the 1870's there were four Cameron properties located along and near Fulton, Fisher and Tomlinson Roads. E-mail for additional info.
