Lucy McKown
Rick left you a message. He has much information on the McKowns and knows who is buried at Birdville. Were you able to get in touch with him?

Went by today and could not find any more markers other the Jeneral's. So I think he is the only one with a marker and Lucy and the others are buried with him. There was an cemetery association gentleman there and we checked their records again the only one listed is J.F McKown. Sorry Can't help you further.

RE: Lucy McKown
Will do some checking again when I get back. Currently on a transatlantic cruise ending up in Nice, France, then to Paris to visit relatives on my mother's side. She is a French war bride, married my US Army father.

Lucy McKown
On death certificates for Jessie (father) and Roy, indicates burial at Birdville Cemetery, So there are four there, Jessie, Lucy, Roy and Fitzhugh. I wonder if they were all buried close to Fitzhugh with his marker as center. I will go back and see if there are any flat markers next to Fitzhugh. Keep in mind Lucy died during the Depression so maybe there was not a any funds for markers. Same for Jessie in 1906. Can't explain why you came up with a different name for Jessie???
Hope this helps.
Do you want me to edit Fitzhugh's Find A Grave to indicate his full name instead of just initials?? I have submitted an edit to change Lucie to Lucy.

Because of the age difference I think the marker is her son, and name could be Jason Fitzhugh McKown??? Her father's name was Jason, so I am thinking that is who her son was named after. Note: he died at 32, before his mother, that might be why "Sweetheart" is on the memorial. Next time I check this cemetery, I will check under "Bishop" also.

I walked the entire cemetery today and could not find a marker/memorial for her. I did find one McKown, J.F. McKown, May 13, 1898 - June 19, 1930. Its marked "Sweetheart" on the top of the marker. That is the only one I found.

Turnersville Cemetery photos
Sarah -

Thank-you so much for taking those photos! The interesting thing is, I can prove my relationship to Margaret Elizabeth Morrow Muse, whose gravestone was one that you photographed, but I have no idea how her husband George William Muse is related to me. I'm certain that he is. The Muse family name is not that common, and every other Muse I have run across is related to me somehow. I'll probably stumble across the link to the rest of the Muse family some time in the future, but it's going to remain one of those interesting mysteries for right now.

Thanks again!
