John Cook, Sr,
Hi Kathryn,

Yes, I had heard it speculated that Elizabeth Coleman, among others, could have been John Cook, Sr's wife, but I have never seen any proof.

Did you get a picture of the little fenced in burial plot?

I would like to hear more about why you think Elizabeth Coleman was this John Cook's wife. Just remember, John Cook was a very common name.

Nice hearing from you and stay in touch,

Robert

RE: John Smith Cater
You are very welcome, however, I did not do the Bio. I assume that was done by the person who created the entry. I only took the picture. The cemetery books shows John and Martha Cater to be in this lot 1253, so these would appear to be unmarked graves. The book also shows Bert Cater and Mr and Mrs J W Green to be in same lot. Did not see a Mary Ann Cater/Cook in the area. When I get a chance, I will Check cemetery books to see if she maybe somewhere else in the cemetery.

RE: John Smith Cater
Kathryn, I have just finished my research on John Smith Cater and have posted it all on his memorial. Everything I know is sourced and is listed. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Kathryn, I'm the one who "posted" the information on John Cater, and I appreciate receiving your message. I'll go back and do research and see if I can untangle it all. When I write bio's, I tie it back to sources. When I get information from alleged family members, I simply post what they give me. Clearly, I posted the obituary, but the earlier info on the memorial is not sourced and doesn't appear to be my work. Give me a day or so and I'll be in touch.

Mattie Hughes.
I want to thank you Kathryn for posting the Cook Cemetery info. Mattie Ward Hughes, I have been searching for her for several years. She is my g-grandfather's daughter by his 1st wife. She died from complications of childbirth, we just found out on her death certificate. I am presuming that maybe one of these children or both maybe died at the same time she possibly did. Do you remember what kind or size of stone she had? I was born and raised in Waterloo, Alabama. She has a sister buried in Lauderdale Co. Alabama, about 15 miles from Waterloo. Do you live in that area? I get back there about once a year and will visit the cemetery the next time. I am going to post some info on her Findagrave. Thanks again.
