Sounds good Howard but I would need to see it before I can tell if appropriate for web site. Did you mean mail by email?

|Mike (Dino) Peterson||RE: John J Bergh tombstone|
Thanks for the below info. I will add it to what I have for John. The info is appreciated. I had a chance to see the 1890 Veterans Census and decided I might be able to do something. Well it turned out to be a much larger project than I envisioned but that was the beginning. Since then people have contacted me and now and then I get a chance to search Traill County cemeteries but that takes time. I'm glad I made it as far as I have and hope it helps people in their ancestry search. Thanks again for the picture.
How exciting that you are collecting the war veterans from Traill county! Since you appear to be in ND I hope my description where the Riverside Cemetery of Hendrum will be useful some day. What was your source for finding the names of Traill county veterans? Here are some other related facts about John that I've collected:
1. Enlisted at the age of 19, (Aug 1862)
2. Fought at siege of Vicksburg
3. Fought at Battle of Lookout Mountain
4. Came to Traill county in 1881 from Wisconsin
5. Moved to Hendrum in 1893
BTW, John's wife Kari was my grandfather's oldest sister--that's why I wanted to find their tombstones.

I certainly meant Howard not John for you. Sometimes my fingers go faster than my head.

I want to thank you very much for the tombstone picture of John Bergh. The picture looks great and I appreciate your time and labor to get it. I'm the NDGenWeb Traill County coordinator and I have been working on a project to provide information on every civil war veteran who had lived in Traill County at one time or another. John was one of those. The page is at - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ndtrail2/militarycwtraill.htm .
Thank you again for your help.

Afraid not. If I could recall anything, I'd share, but there have been so many over the years. Best of luck with your research.

I'm afraid I can't be much help. The Leschi research (and about 600 other files) died with my last computer. However, it appears that the links to his wives were made by those who wrote up those ladies' memorials, perhaps they can help you better than I.
