I am researching my Leffler family to find all the descendants of Gottlieb and Susan Maria Leffler that I can. I am always glad to share the information I have from this project.
I added information from the cemeteries in Hunt City Twp., Jasper County, IL because I am a trustee of those cemeteries and I want to make sure the burials are available to other researchers.
I will try to make changes to the information I have posted, but I do not check email very often, so be patient. I leave duplicates alone, because I have found good information by reading duplicates in my research and the information is the most important aspect to me.
If you have clicked here on my name left by a virtual flower, 99% of the time that flower is left for a member of my Leffler family. If it is not my Leffler family there is generally a message left that would indicate that. I am always glad to share information with someone also working on the Leffler Family Tree, so feel free to contact me thru this site or by my email.
3 Jul 2012 - After losing my husband of almost 52 years last August, I am again working on my family tree and responding to messages here. I apologize to those who thought me remiss, but I was unable to focus long enough to complete a task. I am working through emails and will get corrections made and information added.

RE: Caroline Leffler Swab Buffington
I think I have this sorted out now. I have moved Caroline Leffler Swab Buffington to Oak Hill Cemetery and will contact the owner of the other Caroline memorial to say that person was not married to Simon Swab. Thanks for your help!

I got your email concerning this person but am confused as to what further evidence you are looking for. Evidence of what? This person, whose memorial you referenced (#111186101) is the one whose death certificate you found, with names and dates matching this memorial. I know nothing about the other Caroline/Carolina Leffler you mentioned. My interest in this line is with Caroline's husband, Simon Swab. I have no interest in her lineage.

William Leffler

This morning I hacked around a bit to see what I could find about William Leffler. The one clue I have is that he was in Augusta Twp., Northumberland Co, Pennsylvania in 1860-1870 census reports.

Check your email for a longer response.

RE: Maria E. Leffler Gish
Got your message. I have no further info on Maria Leffler's father, William. I touched upon the Leffler family as Maria's sister, Clara, married Michael Edwards Shatto - I'm focused on the Shattos.

I'll look around the internet in the near future to see what I can find.

Best, Barry

RE: Photos and information
Thank you for the kind words, glad you liked the photos. It certainly is beautiful country over that way. We've always enjoyed spending a few days in the summer over in that area of PA, and always learn something new while there.
Best Regards,
~ Marilyn

RE: Catherine Conrad Steinbrook
We still need to assign a location on her burial. On relatives of my own whose cemeteries are definitely mowed over and converted to cornfields, I've "created" a cemetery that reflected this, and gave the birth and death dates and the documentation I have reflecting this. I have gotten away from my husband's line and am no longer current on where they were and what I know or what I just "think." I'm switching this over to you, for now, until it is edited to be more correct. Please assign a cemetery, or create a virtual one. We know she died and we think we know when. You pick a place. I'll take it back if you decide to transfer it to me. Thank you. - Cynthia

RE: Catherine Conrad Steinbrook
You are a more appropriate person to manage that page, since it is your actual relative. There's not really any work to it, and it feels kind of nice to be connected to your own ancestor that way. You might decide to upload a photo or two, if you think of one that is appropriate, for future researchers/ descendants to find when they are doing their work.

Never did confirm or disprove that Conrad thing, did we?
