I have been doing genealogy for several years and have taken several pictures of my family and relatives grave stones. I am a retired pastor and my wife and I do a lot of traveling. I have many hobbies but photography probably tops the list even though some pictures don't come out the way I want. When I take a picture I try to make it as readable as I can and try to post all that is on the stone. I'm not just trying to post to get a large number but to help others with genealogy as I have been helped.|
I have found a lot of newspaper articles and the funeral brochures that my parents had of people that I didn't know but I have posted several. I would be glad to help in any way that I can. I will transfer your relatives or close friends if they are not my relatives.
You may use any pictures that I have posted for genealogy purposes only.

Hi Rev. Sims. I love your picture of my 6great-grandmother at Middlesworth Cemetery north of Tower Hill, Illinois. I have been unsuccessful in finding the grave. Can you or anyone help?

I'm trying to locate the grave site of my great grandmother, Anna Folks. She died in 1908 in Ohlman, Illinois. She is buried in Ohlman Cemetery according to her death certificate. I see there are two Ohlman cemeteries according to "Find A Grave". She is not listed as being buried in them. I added her to the Ohlman Cemetery in Montgomery County (which might be in error). I have a letter from my grandmother's aunt and uncle who said she was buried in plot 1, lot 36. My uncle and the trustee found the grave site in 1951 according to the letter but it doesn't state what cemetery. Is there any help you can give me in locating her burial spot? Anna Christine Craig Folks. Born May 24, 1887, died in childbirth, Dec 5, 1908. I did find a death certificate from the Montgomery, Ill. County Clerk. Thank you for any assistance or guidance.

Thank you Rev. for your quick reply anyway and for your good efforts in general. Your data has prompted me to check further with Jack Pole's wife's relatives. Appreciate your entries. AGP

Dear Rev. Sims,
John William "Jack" Pole, Find A Grave Memorial# 125697967, and his wife were friends of my grandmother. I recall them from childhood and I am curious about Jack. There are not so many ‘Poles' around, so when I saw your entry for a Joseph Pole, Find A Grave Memorial# 83851731, also from England, also died in Illinois, I just wondered if there might be a connection between the two & possibly other of their Pole family there, dead or living.
Jack Pole had quite a career though as a child I wasn't aware of his responsibilities. I later met his grandson briefly, "Jacky" I believe he was called or "young Jack," one summer when he came to see Franklin, from whence his grandmother hailed, perhaps after Jack died in Illinois but in any event a visit, not there for a funeral. Would be interested to learn if you have any additional Pole information about either ‘your' Joseph or ‘my' John. Thank you for your time. Ann (AGP)

Just another Find A Grave volunteer; not a relative. Just wanted to let you know that I found 2 of her children, buried in Peoria, and linked them. So nice to work with an uncommon name like Schwietzka! I don't suppose there is a William buried near Albertina? Her husband and their father.

I believe there is an error in the date of death for subject Memorial - Julia Ann Porter I believe her maiden name is Stombaugh or Strombaugh). The day of her death was 15 Mar not 18th. I found the date of death in the 26 mar 1891 issue of the Moweaqua (IL) Call-Mail newspaper. I think I can make out the 15 on the picture of her headstone.
Thanks for all the work you do.

Thanks so much! It would be great if you can also transfer the memorial for Kate Kiely Shields to me. I am so very excited to find these folks - this part of my family tree has been difficult. It's finally coming together thanks to help from people like you!
