If you are a college professor and politically neutral, times have changed radically for the better since I was a student. History Professors, in particular, were very politically active and tended to be so far left as to make devout communists look and sound moderate. I found it slightly amusing that you mentioned the 2 Bush's and Clinton. Their wars weren't history to me. I fought in them and they were a significant part of my life, as well as that of my soldiers. Yet none of those Presidents, even Clinton (who was too cowardly to wage war after Al Qaeda declared it on the USA and only resorted to war in Bosnia because he needed a smoke screen during the Monica/ Blue Dress Scandal), ever re-invented a war in progress with the intent of waiving a white flag, disgracing those who fought, and running for home like my last, and worst, Commander-in-Chief, Obama. I spent the majority of my life in a US Army or Marine uniform and being politically neutral by law, but I judge Presidents by how they wage war and treat those under them who are forced to fight wars. As such, the Democrats/ liberals have proven to me to be extremely unimpressive and I would not vote for any of them for high office during a time of war. Are my thoughts and comments meant to provoke you or anger you? Certainly not. I, and my bretheren, protected and maintained your right to say and think anything you see fit. Exercise it as often as you see fit. I am pleased that Verdun and Normandy brought you face to face with the ugly side of the Profession of Arms. Too many glorify it.
I live within 1 county of Stetson so we've lived in the same Homeland.
