Duplicate Memorial
Hello Mr. Hopkins,

While adding a few names to my family tree posted on Ancestry.com, I found your posting for Rose Anna Hopkins, née Casey. Your memorial for her is #59472790. Someone - probably one of those people who simply document burials by picking up the data from the markers, had already posted a memorial for her. That memorial, #8960114, contains nothing of significance unless the floral tribute left by "Anonymous" counts for anything. In my opinion, that counts for too little when it applies to a duplicate.

Since your memorial appears to be that of a relative, you may want to contact MB, the person who created earlier memorial, and simply request the transferral of that memorial to you. You could then simply delete it. This would prevent any hurt feelings or even may what might be seen as an insult to MB.

Most "creators" of these memorial are willing to transfer management to relatives of the deceased.

These duplicates cause more trouble than they're worth. Getting rid of them in the most expedient way makes sense.

I am not related to Mrs. Hopkins, but her father and mother were the paternal grandparents of the wife of my late uncle, Richard Eason. This explains what brought Mrs. Hopkins to my attention.

I hope you find this helpful.

Hooten
Your message sent me on some research. I deleted the memorial photo off of Homer Hooten, found the death record for Buddy and linked him to his parents. I am not able to find the original gravestone image in my files, so will have to take another one.

Thanks so much for noticing the problem.

Lillie Belle Hopkins
Trying to find whether a memorial for her has already been set up, so I do not duplicate.

Lillie Bell Jacobs was born in about 1876, married 1st James (Jimmy) Monroe Magrill (1873-1940) # 98443426, then after their divorce she married a Hopkins.

She died in about 1927 in Longview, TX.

I have some information that her grave is in Grace Hill Cemetery, Longview, but I cannot find her there.

Does anyone know any more about her?
Is she actually buried in Grace Hill?
Is her memorial already set up under some name that I have not searched for?

Thanks!

John W. Hopkins
I am the marker chairman for the Grayson County Historical Commission. While working on a cemetery project for Grayson County, TX we have discovered two graves located just off Choctaw Creek in East Denison (Cherry Mound area). We cannot identify these individuals but I would love to find their family. I have been directed to you. There are only two headstones, each with a footstone. One reads: John W. Hopkins Died Oct 17, 1859 the other reads: Infant Child of John W. Hopkins Died Oct 17, 1859. There is nothing to indicate how old they were. I can't find anything in a census or other record that might indicate who John W. was, where he came from or where he might be have been going......... I'm hoping he might belong to you. Any information you can provide will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tina DiToma
