RE: John Lang
I agree with you on the Lang Headstones..At this cemetery there are so many that are down, broken, and just mowed over..I have been trying to take pictures of those that are down and / or broken. I know that many of the flat ones will be gone soon..Oakdale is beauitful but on rolling hills..the stones tumble down..It is so sad to see this. I am happy to know that you cared enough to contact the cemetery.

RE: Morran Marvin Lewis
Wow, I am learning more about my family history from distant family members than my own immediate family!!

Didn't know that grandpa had an older sister, my great aunt! Wish that I could help you more but my own mother disinherited me several years ago, and so, we haven't been talking since. Please let me know what you find out. Morran was a (navy?) veteran, who died from exposure during the Korean war, or so I was told. I believe that his military records are now in the public domain. In addition, he was cremated and his ashes scattered atop his mother's grave. Not sure where Ernestine is buried; my grandmother never once mentioned her sister-in-law!

Regards,

Don

Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to you! Was not aware of this Find-a-Grave message feature!!

Yes, Morran Marvin Lewis was my grand-father; he died when my mom was around the age of 3.

Regards,

Don

P.S. I will check my messages more often!

RE: Daniella Fisher
I don't have any experience looking up obituaries. As far as funeral homes, there are DOZENS of them in a 20-mile radius and there's no guarantee it was any one of them that handled Daniella's remains. If you do a google search I am sure you find too many names to even know where to start. One this is for sure, Green Hills does have its own mortuary on site. You could try calling them and asking if they handled Daniella's burial preparation. If they didn't, perhaps they will disclose the name of the mortuary. Just make sure to tell them you are related! If I ask them, I doubt if they will tell me.

Good luck!

Daniella Fisher
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request, and just wanted you to know that there is no mistake; the photo is of the headstone where she is buried, with Carl Fisher, however her name was not added to his military headstone. The cemetery records for both show that there are buried together.

Best regards,
B.J.

Daisy Gillispie/Glaspie 1877-1945. I deleted my memorial. I do not have George's.

RE: Thank you
The lady's name who takes care of the Mt Calvary Cemetery is Carol, she's really great. Her number at the cemetery is 319-362-4659. She's taken care of the cemetery for 27 years.
