I have sent a message to your E-mail address,
|Clayton Lord||RE: Drozin Duhon|
I found Drozin's burial location on a Sons of Confederate Veteran's website. I have never been there myself. Supposedly a member of the SCV would have recorded the headstone information himself in order for it to be entered into their data base. They list the location as St Alphonsus Catholic Church cemetery on hwy 167 in Maurice, LA. Maurice is just a little southwest of Lafayette, LA. You may be able to get some help from the church itself at http://www.stalphonsus-maurice.org/ . You can also post a photo request on Find a Grave. I have found that someone will usually respond and will try to take a photo of the headstone for you.
The military information came from an old book compiled by the state of Louisiana after the civil war. What I have listed is copied directly from the book and that is all it has. I do have access to additonal records compiled by the US Gov National Archives, however it doesn't tell much more. I would be glad to send them to you either by mail or email. Apparently Drozin or his widow tried to file for a Confederate pension but the matching records were not found. There are several other Duhons listed in the archives if you are looking for kin, I can try to look for you.
I am not related but am researching his regiment with hopes of publishing its history. If you have any photos, letters, stories or artifacts relating to Drozin or his service I would love to see them. You can contact me directly at email@example.com .
